Big Ten Power Rankings

the list has become quite murky for me as well. I could make a case for my #9 and #8 teams to be 5 and 6.

Penn State is a tough one to place. Illinois is a tough team, but where do they belong?

I kept Wisconsin fairly high, even though they aren't playing great ball. Where does Michigan go, even though they've beat two top 5 national teams?

Alright, first time that I've gone public with my picks. Feel free to rip these to shreds. :)

1. Michigan State
2. Purdue
3. Minnesota
4. Ohio State
5. Michigan
6. Illinois
7. Wisconsin
8. Northwestern
9. Penn State
10. Iowa
11. Indiana

The only spots I was sure of this week- Number 1, 10, and 11. Everything else was tough. So many teams beating up on each other that it's hard to distinguish most of the middle pack right now. Then again, I really could see these being the final standings in the end, with the top 7 getting into March Madness. Northwestern and Penn State are no slouches either, so who knows?

You are aware that Minnesota lost to Northwestern yesterday. I thought that might affect your rankings:) I will agree that after #1, 10, 11 that is really a toss up as to which teams should go where in the rankings. Who would have ever thought that Minnesota would lose to NorthwesternTF to Northwestern caved in the game before.

I'm just giving Minny the benefit of the doubt because I feel they better than the loss yesterday. Also, they won @ Wisconsin this week as well and I can't really justify any of the other teams being put ahead of them at this point.

Ohio State is close because I feel that the Buckeyes will defend their homecourt just as Minnesota did- so those wins will be a wash, but as of now Minny> Ohio State in this set of rankings.

I would take Purdue over Minnesota and I guess we shall see very shortly because they play at Minnesota this week but remember the game is at Williams Arena. I just think the Gophers do not belong in the top 3 in the Big 10. They play very well at home but on the road not well at all.

i was just looking at bracketology and there are some interesting seeds right now. ILL is the one that jumped out at me.

MSU 2
PUR 7
MIN 5
ILL 6
OSU 9
WISC 9
scUM 10

First want to say that I told you guys when I started the big ten thread for this season that we could easily see 7 teams in the tourney this year and probably 8 or 9 playing in the preseason...Not many wanted to hear that...Now we see seven teams in the NCAA bracketology and I would say that NW and PSU have a good chance to make the NIT...
