If you don't like it, move to Russia. Those commies don't even get PBS. They just sit there around the TV, watching the blank screen. If they're lucky, they won't get shipped to Siberia.

In Russia, you don't watch Big Ten Network. Big Ten Network watches you!

I thought the coverage this week vs. last week was much more smooth and that will probably improve as things move along.

Yep. The BTN broadcast teams are no worse than the ones that work the ESPN GamePlan games. In fact, the main FOX team that did the Debacle in the Desert worked the Akron game.

The coverage of the game might have been better but the studio guy who came on after the Ohio State game was telling the audience that those who had been watching the Purdue game would go back to that game while the rest of the audience would see?. While he was still on camera and his microphone still on, he got up from his chair and said to one of the studio workers "it would have been nice to know the score of the game". Extremely professional operation:biggrin:

It would been better if had chewed someone out..."Hey, fuckhead, why didn't you give me the fucking score?!"

Actually, Revsine is a pretty solid announcer...it was the director's fault for not cutting away when they should have.

It will have its first year bumps in the road. But I am SOOOOO Thankful for it. And for my little podunk cable company picking it up for no extra charge as well. It's not great, but I have seen worse. Some of the FSN college games are done so bad I can't watch, or I mute the TV. Best part about the BTN is that since it's been on I have seen the 11/18/2006 game 5 times, and the App St./scUM game 3 times

Those of us old enough to remember the early days of ESPN have a good yardstick by which to measure BTN's quality and screw-ups.

So far, they are during very well for a young (2-week young) broadcasting entity.

I'm personnaly willing to give up any one of the four shopping or three direct-from-Jesus channels if I could get Buckeye football. Think they'll trade?

I'm pretty sure the shopping networks PAY to be on there, so while you don't watch 'em, you don't want them to go away because they subsidize other things.

Solution? The Big Ten Shopping Network!

Ohio State fans and their merchandise buying habits could pay for one years' network airtime with just one day of home shopping programming.

That didn't help me in the last 25 years or so of cable. Buckeye cable never broadcast the football games regularly, not even ONN and Ohio sports.
Now they do so I am very happy as long as they show my Buckeyes.

??
Shopping networks help foot the bill for other items. It keeps the overall cable bill lower. But I'm glad you have your games now.

Big Ten Network's look is a notch below ESPN Published on Tuesday, Sep 11, 2007

The Big Ten Network got a break from this corner the past 10 days or so because every new enterprise deserves an opportunity to work out the kinks.
So what's the verdict on the Big Ten Conference's and Fox Sports' foray into provincial sports coverage? Mixed at this point.
As far as ''look'' goes, BTN is a notch above local regional sports channels such as FSN Ohio and SportsTime Ohio and a notch below ESPN. The look is almost overdone to the point of being strained as if the set designer and company knew they had a lot at stake with this venture. They'll eventually figure out what works best for them.
