Three midmajors in BCS bowls, what a crappy bowl lineup.

UC is not mid major. They just seem mid major in the Big Least. They got a Big 6 auto bid.

UC-Big East
OSU-Big 10
Texas-Big 12
Oregon-Pac 10
Alabama-SEC

Florida-SEC

Mid-major term does not have an official definition. I don't think 5 years of affiliation to a watered down Big East conference makes Cincinnati a major program. Certainly not enough time to forget they were once a MAC team :).

So when did Arizona State and Arizona stop being mid majors, since they were in the WAC until the late 70s? :) It seems to be the thing to rip the Big East nowadays, but only two of their teams had losing records this year...

Just read the Cincy threads on Big Ten expansion. Wow, that was 15 minutes of my life I can never have back. I'm not sure if I was stunned more by how completely at odds most of their thinking is with the Big Ten's real position or the absolute certainty with which they spew it.

My favorite, is that expansion is all about "propping up a failing Big Ten Network." Google Motherfucker. Can you use it.

Now, BTN considerations are undoubtedly very important, but I love the desperate need to cling to the notion that the BTN has failed. In its first year, and without Comcast and Time Warner on board, it kicked out 11 million dollars in profit to EACH school. This year, we're looking at 20 million to each school, yet Cincy fan looks at this and somehow sees an epic Phail.

Other gems included, "Paterno and Penn State understand the growing threat from the Big East."

No, Texas has no incentive to join the Big Ten. They are doing very well right where they are.

It has been documented in this thread that Texas does have SOME incentive to join the Big Ten.

The question is whether or not the incentive is enough to make them switch.

Rivals article discussing this matter, pretty sure it hasn't been posted yet.

I think the Big Ten would be wise to add a 12th member. That way, the league could add a conference championship game and enhance the chances of getting a team in the BCS national championship game.

True, Ohio State played for the national championship as recently as 2007, but that was a fluke because one-loss teams Missouri and West Virginia were upset in the final games before the BCS pairings were set and there were no other teams from Big Six conferences with fewer than two losses.
This quote from the article seriously [censored]es me off. Yeah, a one loss regular season is a fluke because two teams ranked ahead of them choked, get real. They may very well have made it if only one of those teams lost. Also, he says all this as if we didn't go undefeated and lose in the title game the year before. This anti-B10 [censored] gets on my nerves
