Notre Dame not getting special treatment and being forced to finally join a conference would be a great thing

From what I have seen of this 12 team structure and thinking through it a little more this is about as good as you could hope for.
  • No auto bids so all regular season games remain important.
  • on campus home games
  • ND has to join a conference (and sticking them in the ACC with Clemson just makes the whole thing so much easier)
  • G5 teams can make it but are going to get crushed so we can stop all the cinderella nonsense
Cons
  • top 4 teams don't get a home game
  • selection committee getting a chance to triple their fucked up rankings

My quick suggestions for improvement:
  • cull the lower Bowls and make first 2 rounds home games
  • Go back to a BCS-like formula for seeding (or anything else they can do to make the process more transparent) shady ass, behind closed doors dealmaking needs to go away
  • abolish media polls. They influence committee, no doubt in my mind.
  • fuck *ichigan in any way possible

Disagree on ND. Their bye week is not having to play a CCG, plus they know the committee will do everything possible to get them to host. No way they join a conference now. An 8 team format was the only chance of forcing that issue.

Agree on everything else, especially the G5 thing. And they won't have the excuse that they always get matched up against the 1 seed as would be the case almost every year in an eight team format. Hell, I can't wait until one of them hosts and gets clubbed like a baby seal at home by some at-large SEC or B1G school.

Do you not believe in the power of the 12th Juggalo?

Why would the B1G want 20 teams?
:slappy:

So they could split into two conferences?

What motivation would ND have to leave their sweetheart deal with the ACC? Texas, Oklahoma, and Clemson have to only play one team with anywhere near their talent during the regular season. Why would they want to move to the SEC and have to actually work to win the right to get their ass kicked in in the CCG?

IMO...

Texas - hard pass. Fuck 'em. Let them go independent - seems like that's really what they really want anyway.
OU - I might be able to get onboard with this.
UNC - Ok, why not?
UVA - yes, please
ND - see Texas above
Mizzou - Would be fine with me.
Iowa St - yawn
Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, Cincy, WVU - no
