My dream scenario would be for OU and Kansas to bolt for the SEC while Texas refuses B1G's conditions to ditch the LHN and play by BIG rules and then wanders in the wilderness as an Indy for a decade while we raid the ACC for UVA & UNC.

I don't really care where Texas ends up as long as it's not the B1G and they keep losing.

Latest bright idea from the talking heads at Sirius XM College Sports channel is to have the Big 12 and Big Ten merge to form a mega-conference.

So, what's in it for the B1G? Not much, so far as I can see.

Not if UT is still there. I think the corn want as far away from. UT as they can get. Maybe there's the slimmest of chances that they might go to rejoin OU if UT bolts for the PAC (or tries to go indy) while they struggle for success in the B1G, but that's 1 in 500.

Even that would be insanity. BXII with just OU or UT cant survive long term.
There are 3 highly stable conferences that will be here when the sun swallows the earth.

If espn could pull the plug on the lhn, it already would've been done. They are locked into writing that $15M check every year until 2030. UT would have to agree to give it up or fold it into the SECSPN Network, and UT aint known for doing the big hearted thing.

It seems to me there are always ways around that. ie split it off and have that division go into administration/bankruptcy.
It's drastic, but given how theyre slashing contracts... things are looking pretty serious over there

I went and read the last several pages of the expansion thread, some insight, some comedy and a lot of stupidity. Most striking comments are that if UT went to the B1G, the CCG would be moved to Jerry World. The disturbing thing is that this sentiment isn't just a bunch of morons on the shaggy. This is precisely the kind of shit that UT would start scheming and agitating for before the ink is even dry.

Even if Delaney wants to make this some last legacy move, I would hope enough of the Presidents realize what a destructive cancer UT would be and shoot it down.
