The twitters are now saying that espn and Fox are offering to sweeten the current deal by up to 20% if they stay at 10. Extend the GOR to 2030, which locks Texas and OU in and coincidentally coincides with the end of the LHN contract.

It might be too early, but I'm going to post it anyways.

This is a totally non-trolling question.

Would Nebraska ever go back?
It shouldn't be a serious question.

The only question is how they will feel if Texas is brought on board, though that's a storyline but not a major consideration.

Whether the maniacal, destructive, hot chick from Austin can be forced to behave by the B1G rules is all that matters.

Quite frankly, they (Texas) need to be told that they will not run the conference, are no more important than Purdue and Indiana in any sport and any decision-making, and if you can't handle that truth then you're not welcome in the conference. I don't think they'll be ready to handle that truth until either the LHN bombs and ESPN pulls the rug early, or Oklahoma goes rogue and leaves them with slashed tires and water in their gas tank. Even then, I would expect Texas to go independent with the LHN than accept that they can't run a conference and are just an equal peer (assuming the Big XII collapses without Oklahoma to help maintain football interest/revenue).

I don't think they can and wouldn't even try to accept a role as equal to all the other conference schools. That's evident in their desire to take along a voting block of subservient schools with them to the PAC. If UT and OU did get in, I think it's likely that OU would likely break away from their influence right after the ink is dry. Boren's made it clear that even OU is tired of their act.

If espn could pull the plug on the lhn, it already would've been done. They are locked into writing that $15M check every year until 2030. UT would have to agree to give it up or fold it into the SECSPN Network, and UT aint known for doing the big hearted thing.

I wouldn't underestimate the degree to which the corn have poisoned the water for UT with the Purdues and Minnesotas of the conference. I'm not sure that half the conference wants to roll the dice and see if we and UM and Wiscy could keep the whorns in line and the equitable power and revenue sharing in place.

Trade the psychotic Texans for Kansas and bring em with Oklahoma. The premiere basketball conference would become even more stacked and maybe Oklahoma would live up to their billing in football unlike psu and Nebraska (not unhappy with the latter, just not quite what most expected).

Of course, ESPN would suddenly notice their flaws when they join the B1G after a decade of kid gloves for Big Game Bob (who had a much longer ugly stretch vs Tressel during Jan 07 - Sep 09).
