FWIW, while I think BYU would top the Big XII's list, I think BYU would prefer to remain independent. The only conference I could see BYU wanting to join is the Pac-12, and that ain't happening for a multitude of reasons.

I'm thinking they sit where they are team wise for a year or two. None of these teams are going to do anything but lower the total payout to the league. When we renegotiate our primary rights deal and get a payday that blows everyone else out of the water, it will set off a new round of posturing.

The juggalos are foaming Faygo at the mouth about the certainty of their B12 invite. I just don't see it. To me Colorado State and BYU are the natural options unless giving Moonshine Aggy some nearby opponents is playing into the mix.

BYU can learn to play on Sundays. Hell, they changed their doctrine that blacks were subhuman when it threatened their athletic teams, I'm sure they can do something about the Sunday thing.

Do they really think adding two mid-majors is the way to get themselves into the playoff? They need to instead focus on playing a better non-conference schedule rather than watering down their conference product even more.

It's not like they will win anything even if they do get the invite

Doesn't matter. They'll be back in a P5 conference, and while it still might not matter outside of that corner of the state, with the right coach it could effect recruiting in Cincy which has never been Ohio State's strongest corner of the state to begin with. Plus, they'll be playing in a pretty shit Northern division (theorhetically: juggalo state, WVU, ISU, Memphis KSU and Kansas), which gives them a puncher's chance of juggaloing their way into the playoff.

Best to keep the juggalos where they belong........firmly beneath our hobnailed boot.

The Big 12 anchored by Texas and OU and fueled by Texas HS talent, is not the Big East. It is a legitimate P5 conference. And keep in mind, that TCU was a mid-major just a couple of years ago. Are they going to supplant Texas on a long-term basis as the state's power school? No, but they are for the time being. A world where the juggalos happen to catch lightening in a bottle during a down period for Ohio State is not a world in which ORD_Buckeye chooses to draw oxygen.
