There are too many figures at ESPN that would be sympathetic to Ohio State (Herbstreit, Spiels, Robert Smith, Lou Holthssss, and even Senior VP Vince Doria) to orchestrate a coordinated smear campaign and not have that info leaked by now. I would think Dave Revsine would be the first to offer inside info on ESPN since he left the network for the BTN after hosting SportsCenter, College Game Night, and doing parttime duty on Outside the Lines for ten years.
If anyone would have 'dirt,' it'd be Revsine, and he's in the prime position to capitalize on it since he's the BTN equivilent to Chris Berman.

I have to admit that I stopped watching ESPN talking heads a few years ago, but mostly because the endless banter ultimately became more of a distraction to the game than an enhancement. ....couple that with the dozens of fanbases bickering about how they are getting shafted...well it just made for a tiresome experience.
I also have to admit that originally I was very much against BTN because it made it more difficult for me, as a fan, to get certain games out of market. However, regardless of how it changed my viewing abilities and costs of that, it has CLEARLY benefited the conference, so it was obviously the right thing to do even if it isn't convenient for me.

Few if any tOSU fans give a [censored] how often tOSU is covered. It's the vitriol, negative hyperbole, and outright bull[Mark May] and lies they talk about tOSU that's the [censored]ing problem. I stopped watching years ago, but it was obvious. Hell, I tried to find them talking the same [Mark May] about another team...wasn't happening. So keep believing that everyone but you is paranoid and ESPN is just calling it like they see it. That's your choice.
My point is once you realize a lot of their conversations are scripted for staged confrontations, it makes you wonder how much else is being scripted.BigJim;1950296; said:So your theory is the conspiracy starts at the top, filters down, and ends with the people who write the scripts for the shows?
BUCKYLE;1950311; said:Why does everyone need to be involved? It's not all or nothing. Just involve a few key "personalities" repeating the same bullshit over and over and the other idiots will be like "it's true, I saw it on cold pizza!". Mission accomplished.
Correct, but Oklahoma and Auburn fans don't drive traffic to the mothership, because most of them are illiterate.jwinslow;1950322; said:I also don't think it's a coincidence that Oklahoma gets about 5% as much negative publicity for their much worse big game performance, or that many at ESPN treated the Newton situation with kid gloves.
I can buy that, but that adds credence to those arguing about a slant, merely providing another reason for it.If ESPN.com posts an article about Ohio State, no matter how innoculus, it'll get 2000+ comments in a few hours before they shut the comments off.
OSU = eyeballs. Eyeballs = money.
