If what I got out of that thread is true then this is good news. No way was the Big Ten and Delany going to let some hack on a message board continue to release valid secret information. I imagine the negotiations are in a sensitive state right now and the last thing they need is for them to be leaked to the public on a message board. If what PBC was saying was legitimate they had to find the leak and shut it up.

If they indeed did cut off PBCs info then that means his info was legitimate, and that the JD wasn't just sending out false info to make him look like an ass when it all turned out wrong.....ie revenge for the incident a couple of weeks ago

PBC loosing any contact and admiting it actually leads credence to his info imo.

In all of this what happens to Georgetown and Kansas basketball? There is lots of discussion about what happens to the Big East but it is first and foremost a basketball conference IMO.

BTW, Big Ten basketball will become THE premiere basketball conference in the nation if some of these scenarios happen.

Is that what happened?

It appeared to me that he thought he was blocked from posting on the board because he didn't understand how the board worked, but that he can still post.

Was there also information somewhere that I did not see that he was cut off by his source?

I don't know about Kansas, but if the Big East goes down then I'm pulling for the all-Catholic basketball league. I'm a little biased being a UD grad, but this idea has been mentioned before and at least has some logic behind it.

WEST
Xavier
Dayton
Marquette
St. Louis
DePaul
Notre Dame (only if they don't join the Big10)

EAST
Villanova
Georgetown
St. John's
Providence
Seton Hall

You could even throw in a St. Joe's, LaSalle, or Duquesne if need be. It's a pretty strong conference just from the aspect of competition, and there are some huge media markets involved also.

My best college football friend in NYC is a Boston College grad. I've learned more about the Big East and ACC feelings than I ever wanted to know. Needless to say, also since I lived in Boston, BC is my JV team. OSU is his.

Anyway, he is obviously Catholic, and we have discussed a league as Buckeye 737 (pilot?) has described. I think it makes a lot of sense.

btw: my best friend flies 73s, though actually he may be on md88s for a bit right now, due to seniority and a move. . .

No kinch I was just deducing what I got out of that limited thread.....mainly the part about "Well guys, I guess there has been a change of heart", and the Evanston guys follows it up with PBC "hit a nerve somewhere". I took that to mean his source had shut up, but your version is probably much more plausible.

Oh well, that leads me back to my original thoughts that he is getting fed crap by JD and Co. as pay back for the previous incidents where he had legit info. He is the only one in America right now saying that the B10 and Texas are a match so something is definitely up with that IMO.

And you are probably in the same place as me: I got zero work done on Thursday and Friday (and now have to work tomorrow to make it up), and I am tapping my wrist hoping for a freebase of more news. I NEED EXPANSION NEWS!

Okay. I have become sick.

Well, I was sick. . . but now I'm sicker.

You are not alone my friend, I will be up all night tonight and tomorrow getting caught up after expansionpallooza destroyed all my productivity this week. I am kinda pulling for no new news until I get caught up!

Texas A&M and the SEC are/have met today, and even Texas legislation is behind the move.

SEC wants UNC pretty badly, not sure if they can end up getting them or not but due to their sports revenue issues that they're reported themselves you'd imagine it'd be tough for them to say no, especially if they foresee the ACC getting raided anyways.

If the SEC was able to get UNC, that'd be a huge blow. The SEC can do to the ACC what the Big Ten did to the Big 12 (and maybe the Big East).

Wow.......suprised the Texas Gestapo are ok with that. Where did you get that info from??

From what I hear the Gestapo (texas legislature) is cool with this because Texas and Tech are going to have a soft landing.

Looks like Larry Scott is on his way to Texas

I just can't see UNC leaving the ACC--and their traditional tobacco road rivalries with Duke, UVA, Wake, Maryland and NC State....not this early in the game.

If the SEC raids the ACC it will be for Clemson, FSU and maybe Miami. The ACC will reload with Big East schools and go back to being a basketball first conference.

I was jk with Gestapo remark......I was actually raised in Houston a good part of my childhood so I understand the politics. Good luck to you guys in the PAC 10 you should own it for at least a decade.

A&M on the other hand is going to get it's ass handed to them in the SEC.....but I'm sure your hating that...lol.

Kansas has a "KSU Problem." While KSU academics obviously aren't a poison pill to the P10 (they're taking OU, OSU and Tech after all), the stumbling block is that there's no more room left on the wagon after Texas and its little pilot fish climb on board.

Besides, Utah makes more sense. They provide a better natural rival for Colorado. SLC is a more important tv market for the P10 than KC. And not least in the configuration, something is going to need to be done to placate Orrin Hatch, so he doesn't meddle in all of this.
