"Eddie...Eddie...Eddie" No player has had their name chanted in the shoe like Eddie. Just thought i'd add that :) Eddie may have slowed down late in his NFL career, after he was abused for years...but he was fast as hell at Ohio State. Holy crap! Did you see that. Me neither, but they say it was Eddie George.

If somebody were to HYPOTHETICALLY say:
When is Buckyle ever an idiot (other than when he is in the drunk thread)? Buckyle has NEVER EVER EVER been an idiot when talking about Ohio State football. Buckyle is a great Buckeye fan, and a great American! If I could pick one person i've never met to watch a Buckeye game with, it'd probably be Buckyle.

Faulk and Tomlinson. If there's anyone on that list I could go back and make Buckeyes, those would be the ones, with Ricky Williams a modest third.
I can't objectively rate Eddie and Beanie, so assume that they're tied for #1.

To compare almost anyone to Barry Saunders is difficult. For his style, no one really compares. Barry in the college game and the professional game had runs that defy my comprehension. If you look back in time, only the Kansas Comet, Gale Sayers, comes close in my mind.
That is not to say the the list presented and others in their own way were not spectacular. For example, Archie Griffin, had some mind boggling runs too, but he was not as ghostlike shifty as Barry Saunders. Eddie, Beanie, LaDanian, Emmitt and others are spectacular in their own right. Don't forget Jim Brown either.
Why must we alway put a tag of "best" on everything? Appreciate the chance to enjoy the athlete-artists in action. Some are hammers and some are scalpels. (Not a very good metaphor, but....)
