He came along six years or so before Barry Sanders; I think Herschel Walker just might be the best running back of all time.

"A Memoir of TCU's Glory Days" I need to find that article and check it out. Dan Jenkins was born and raised here and went to TCU so it should be a good read.

Raw talent alone, I would almost give the nod to Lawrence Phillips. The kid was good. Damn good. I also Like Adrien Peterson in that discussion. Marshall Faulk is an interesting case as is LT, as they played for mid-majors. I don't think Garrett Wolfe and Michael Turner are really in this discussion.

Reggie Bush was absolutely surrounded by the best talent on the west coast and then some and played in a Pac10 conference that couldn't spell defense without the help of a tutor.

At the time Eddie George had his defining moment in college, it was against the #1 ranked rushing defense in the nation (Illinois) and he shredded it for 314 and a few scores as well as caught a TD and left the field with over 12 minutes to play.

I honestly thought at one time that #13 would be in this discussion.

What year was Bo Jackson?

He was just before Barry. Bo won the '85 Heisman, Sanders won it in '88.

I went with Adrian Peterson. (That's Adrian L., not the Adrian N. of the Bears, from Georgia Southern).

Reggie Bush:(. Speed, power, and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. I think Eddie is right up there with him but Bush was probably better in the open field. If Beanie would not have been injured and I could have seen more of him, he might be up there but does not have the open field ability of Bush or Eddie.
