Is beard-o-licious a word?

It is now.

Beanie could have another year also. Not saying he will, just that it's available. Had he not had the injury this year, and let's say he rushes for another fifteen hundred yards...plus around 1800 next year....I can't be involved in this discussion. I'm too biased.

Biased, yes, but I'd have a hard time taking anyone over Beanie. He's a fuckin' beast.

For Ohio State, he's about as perfect of a fit as it gets.

I am also biased. But there are some players on that list who would be great on any team. I think Beanie is one of those guys.

You know what - I voted McFadden and it should have been Lawrence Phillips from Nebraska. The Mid 90's Nebraska teams beat the shit out of people and he was a major reason why.
I was at the '95 ass-raping of Florida. All we could do is yell "Hit her again, hit her again, harder - harder" every time he tore off a long run.

Reggie Bush:(. Speed, power, and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. I think Eddie is right up there with him but Bush was probably better in the open field. If Beanie would not have been injured and I could have seen more of him, he might be up there but does not have the open field ability of Bush or Eddie.

Huh?

I have to vote Eddie George on this one. It seemed his strides were swift and powerful and he had a burst thru the offensive lines, effectively to the outside where as Wells would gain alot of his runs up thru the guard and
tackle positions which is pretty hard to do - so its a close call between Beanie and Eddie here. If beanie can remain healthy thru 08 and into 09 for his senior year then it could change my mind alittle. I just thinks its a little early to put beanie into the mix here because he still has another year to prove his worth. Provided he decides to stay.

I hate arguing against Eddie...

But...Beanie "proved" himself LAST year. He ran for 300 yards less than Eddie did his senior season. I don't think there is a skill Eddie posessed that Beanie does not. And Eddie didn't have that nasty stiff arm.

Or a beard for that matter.

I don't know who to vote for. I want to say Beanie, but Bush also has the ability to line up at WR and be just as effective. But I don't think Bush would be effective in every offense. Beanie would. Smashmouth? Check. Spread? Check. Option? Check. Pistol? Check.

No argument there and his injury this year set him back just abit so that is why is said Wells needs to prove next year that he can be stronger and healthier in 09 to challenge this position. Both Eddie and George were huge at this position for tOSU.

LenDale White was in for a reason. He could pound it between the tackles much better than Reggie could. No question that Reggie is an all-time talent, but one of the negatives about him both in college and today was/is that he has trouble running between the tackles. In college, he could disguise it by making spectacular runs, reverses, etc. Not in the pros. But he is still an all-time talent.

I've been thinking about this, and reading, and I have to say that Adrian Peterson is probably the guy I'd choose. I hate choosing anyone over Beanie, but Peterson was insane.

I may be biased, but Kevin Faulk was amazing at LSU.

Still holds SEC record for All-Purpose yards (6833) and TDs (53)
2nd in SEC history in Rushing yards.
When you think of some of the other RBs that have come through the SEC, (Emmitt Smith, Bo Jackson, Terrell Davis, Garrison Hearst, Shaun Alexander, Darren McFadden, Rudi Johnson) that's pretty good list to sit (almost) on top.

Best single game performance I ever witnessed was Shaun Alexander against LSU in '96. Dude was a freshman and went for 290 with 4 TDs and sat out most of the 4th quarter.

Beanie Wells 16%? Really. 16% of you think he's the best college RB since Barry Sanders. Better than Eddie George? What are you smoking? I'd take Eddie over Beanie ANY DAY! I just can't see that. Beanie had a great career...and a great 2007, but come on.

If you just look at ONE year, (I assume that we are looking at careers though), 1995 Eddie George was a beast, and 2007 Beanie Wells was great, but don't forget 2002 Maurice Clarett. I say 2007 Beanie and 2002 Clarett are very close. Injuries for Clarett sucked, so for an overall season, i'd much rather have 2007 Beanie. But if both are healthy, I think I might take 2002 Clarett. He was a stud, and it obviously wasn't just having a good O-line...he did A LOT on his own when he was in there, more than I think Beanie does on his own. He may not have had quite as good of a stiffarm as Beanie, but he ran OVER LBs better than ANY RB i've ever seen at Ohio State. I mean, he would turn 2 yard gains into 8 yards gains, ALL THE TIME!!! Right up the middle. And he was a bigger threat out of the backfield. It was quite sick to watch Clarett run. I know it is a sore subject for some, but it shouldn't be. Clarett was an important part of the 2002 team. Without him, I doubt we win the NC. I just love me some 2002 Clarett.

In the end I voted for Reggie Bush. Holy crap!!! That kid was awesome in college.
