Bengals versus Steelers, part III

He used to be a Bengal. When these two met last time, Van Olhoffen said he couldn't be happier for the city and the team. He still has friends on the Bengals. I highly doubt it was on purpose. His reaction when he saw Palmer was hurt says it all. He obviously felt bad.

But, damn. What might have been. Oh well. They will build on this season for next year. Look out NFL, the Bengals will be a force to be reckoned with for a while now.

WHO DEY!!! (w/ PALMER)

It certainly didn't look intentional to me. Von Oelhoffen tried to split between the two OL by diving at the QB. Unfortunate? Absolutely. Was he trying to injure Palmer? I don't think so.

As a Bengals fan even looking at the tackle through Orange and black goggles - I concur with BuckyKatt's assessment. Von Oelhoffen was clearly in Oh my God mode immediately after he saw Palmer on the ground. And one thing Von Oelhoffen has never been credited with is great acting skills.

This excursion into the playoffs was basically one year ahead of schedule for the Bengals. - they go no further than than the first round - so be it.

The big task now for the Bengals is making the most of the draft and bolstering our defense, while looking for a good back-up QB for Carson.

I heard they got the plan from the Michigan game :roll1:

no comprendo.

Jwins, I suspect you're not old enough to remember all the cheap shots delivered by the Steelers on Ken Anderson back when he played. My views are colored by those memories. I'll never forget the time a Steelers player grabbed him by the facemask from behind and yanked his head back. Big time neck injury. Out for the season. But hey, they got penalized 15 yards. And you probably don't remember L.C. Greenwood, who went for the knees just about every time he rushed the passer. This is a long-time Steeler tradition.

Truthfully, I'm not an avid Steelers hater (as most Browns fans are, and I used to be). I live in Big Ben country (Findlay) and like to see him succeed outside of when they play Cleveland. I just am pulling for them with all my might this week because there are few teams in all of sports that I enjoy watching lose more than the Bungles.

Most everyone on this thread is well aware of my bias on this topic. It's well documented, so I'll spare them the details.

I see why!

The hit on Palmer wasn't intentional. He's was blocked down into Palmer.

That's football.

Just want to thank the Bengals for a good ride this year and look forward to getting back to the playoffs next year, WHO DEY!!

Damn, you just know we'll be seeing replays of Chad Johnson's, "We're going to face the Colts in the AFC Championship game and put up 40 points a game along the way" quote over and over. Damn, he's good, but he's a tool.

Hey guys, I know Kimo's not a bad guy. I'm just steamed because of the history involved. Sorry for going over the line.

89 - I know what you mean and in the sports bar where I was viewing the game there were a lot of here we go again reactions to Palmer going down.
That changed over time as folks saw the repeated replays.
Good for you for recognizing that VO did not target Palmer's knees.
