BCS Title Game: LSU +1.5 vs Bama (ov/un 40.5) Mon Jan 9th 8 ET, ESPN

I'm seriously thinking that there will not be the equivalent of tumbleweeds blowing across the dusty, abandoned Nielsen ghost town that some predict.

It's the national championship game. Lots of people will watch. But probably not as many as last year, and it will probably be among the lowest-rated MNC games in the past couple of decades.

Perhaps of the BCS era.

I'm going on record as saying this game will be infinately more entertaining that the last matchup and both coaches won't be as conservative.
I'd venture a guess that a good 70% of the Superdome crowd will be overserved.

Yes, being the MNC, loads of people will tune in. Might not be as high as some other years, but it'll still generate huge numbers.

Meanwhile, I heard on the radio that NCAA is to seriously discuss a plus-one scenario....starting as soon as tomorrow with those discussions. So, apparently this season might be enough to push towards a mini-playoff of 4 teams...

I recall being overserved last year last year. Hard to be there and NOT be.

If that is the outcome of this game, then it is worth a year's sacrifice to accomplish.

If Alabama wins their way to this game via even a four-team tournament, I have no problem watching. Voting them in as if this were women's figure skating - that I have a problem with. Always have.

That 05 Texas team scored 50+ on every team but the Bucks that year. EVERY team. They were nasty on offense.

Actually 40+ on everybody else.

40 vs aTm
41 vs USC
42 vs Colorado
45 vs Oklahoma
47 vs Okla St

If LSU wins what would be the point of a +1 game? Other than, to play Okie St. or Stanford, who they should have played ahead of Alabama anyway.

Screw the BCS and the +1 just have an eight team playoff and be done with it. You can still have the bowl games with the remaining teams not in the playoff.

It just isn't that hard and there is lots of money to be made....

Pumped for this game. You can complain all you want about the system but the talent and coaching level in this game is high quality. Any football fan can appreciate that, and watching players like Clayborne, Hightower, Richardson, etc play 1 more game before they go pro

Hopefully Trich stays 1 more year so I can see him rip apart Hoke and scUM
