truly, even without scarlet glasses the 2005 USC-Texas title game was infinitely better

just because the score is close and there is drama at the end of the game doesn't mean that the play on the field wasn't shitty throughout

Yeah I'm going to go with the USC/Texas game. Oregon/Auburn was good....but it's nothing compared to USC/Texas.

In other news, I'm disappointed (marginally). The Duck fan base can be insufferable; therefore, since I don't have to deal with the Auburn fucks directly... it works out well in that sense. Odd game.

Only one national writer, Andy Staples of SI, mentioned the oversigning of the SEC today. Good on him.

He only mentioned it to make excuses for it. At one point, he said something to the effect of, "The Big Ten forfeited the grounds to oppose oversigning when Ohio State cut a deal to keep players eligible for the Sugar Bowl."

Uga just lost to a c-usa team and has been punching bags for these top sec teams. What exactly do they have to celebrate for?

The SEC did lose a couple head scratchers but they still had a winning bowl record and again dominated the New Years Day bowl games sans one AWESOME exception. So with that going for them it would seem they have plenty to puff their chest out about. No one here likes it but the SEC is the premier football conference right now and 5 titles in a row is impressive. Last night we again saw how the "typical" SEC defensive line wreaks havoc on opponents. That seemed to be the biggest difference in this game.

Seems I wasn't the only one to notice this last night then lol - a couple of us mentioned it immediately after the game how "disinterested" they all seemed.

Someone else posted it at the time, but did anyone else notice how "disinterested" everyone on the field seemed after the win? No one stormed the field, jumped, ran wild screaming, etc...when we beat Miami that field went fucking bat shit crazy. Cam Newton just strolled out to midfield like he just beat Directional Louisiana (perhaps because he knows it's being stripped in a year anyways? or 4...)
