BCS predictions/discussion/Knock Em' Off

I've been thinking about that as well. Does anyone honestly think WVU is better that tOSU?

The point I would use is that the nation thought we were #1 for x number of weeks, why are we all of a sudden automatically behind WVU?

The real big thing is that USF loss compared to Illinois.

I, of course, agree with what you're driving at. The voters should be made to think about what they're doing... WVU and OSU both have a loss... OK... but, which between the two is "better" Reasonable minds can disagree, I suppose... but this punished for a late season loss shit has bugged me for years.

Here is a point that will become a big deal soon imo.

LSU finishes #1 and it becomes a beauty contest between a 1 loss WVU and a 1 loss OSU for the #2 spot, let the debates begin.

Our loss looks better and we haven't struggled with anyone else we have played. WVU struggled mightily with a 5-5 L'ville team and is in a dogfight as I type with UC.

Even if they stay 1 spot ahead in the human polls, can we out BCS them?

If this OU score holds up get ready to hear a lot of this.

I think Missouri has to lose again before we start hearing that debate. There's the whole matter of their win over the team Ohio State lost to. That's a very compelling argument, and I'm inclined to agree with it seeing as how their one loss it to a quality Oklahoma team. I know there's a strong chance they get knocked off in this Big XII mini-playoff, but they're a good team and could very well emerge from it with still only one loss. I think you could make a strong argument for OSU vs West Virginia, but if any other parties are involved in that argument, I can't see the Buckeyes being favored on a national level.

If Oklahoma loses this, and the winner of Missouri/Kansas wins the Big XII championship game, you ought to include them with West Virginia and Ohio State. (Or, if undefeated Kansas is that team, I think they should be ahead of 1-loss West Virginia and 1-loss Ohio State.)

And if one team is #2 in human polls, the computer polls CAN move the #3 team ahead of the #2 team in BCS rankings, if the #2 and #3 are close in overall points in the human polls. So if both of the human polls come up LSU, WVU, OSU, and the computer polls are LSU, OSU, WVU, Ohio State MIGHT be #2 in the BCS - but they need to be close in the human polls.

Actually, I left that point out of my post (idk why though)

Because that loss to South Florida just looks ugly now; and as much as it pains me, while we lost to Zook - Illinois is a solid squad.
However I'd prefer there to be as few barriers as possible, so WVU losing would be great.

The beauty contest between OSU and WVU only happens if the B12 teams take each other out.

I'm thinking OU loses to TT and either they still make the B12 CG or Texas does and obviously we would need themto beat the B12 north winner.

IF that happens you are indeed looking at the WVU vs OSU beauty contest imo. I don't see WVU going down to Uconn or Pitt.

agreed on both. I'd prefer not to have it but I think we stand a pretty good chance in a beauty contest with WVU.

OSU was already ahead of WVU in all the computer polls prior to today. Beating Michigan on the road certainly won't hurt the final result.

AH: OSU #6, WVU #9
KM: OSU #6, WVU #9
WC: OSU #5, WVU #7
JS: OSU #6, WVU #8
PW: OSU #6, WVU #8
RB: OSU #2, WVU #4

If the OU/TT score holds up OSU will already slide up to 4 in every computer poll.

The problem is that WVU already holds such a wide margin in the human polls. Harris & coaches polls had them #5, while dropping OSU to #7.

but i don't see it being possible that we jump WVU when there still playing football for another 2 weeks while were just sitting on our butts. Who knows? Cincy aint out yet. I don't see ASU beating USC. BIG XII kills itself. we need tennessee to lose cuz theres no way fulmer takes it to Les Miles in georgia. Come on kentucky. Come on cincy.

Good point; all I ever hear is about the "explosive mountaineer offense".

Dandy, but they beat Louisville by a touchdown!! - seriously, a team that Syracuse bitch smacked. Anyway, regardless of how good we may look, the majority does not want us back in the NC game: period. So do I think a 1 loss WVU team would stay ahead...... sadly, I do.

Glad to see that on the computer polls. My thought is if we are 1 spot low in the human polls we can still out BCS them.

Also, the human polls tend to try and jive up with the BCS at the very end, I'm just saying don't be suprised if we play for a NC IF the B12 teams take each other out. I think the national media would still tend to think more of us than WVU.
