BCS predictions/discussion/Knock Em' Off

I just want to beat Michigan now. If we do that, whatever bowl game in which we end up will be fine with me.

You can bet that the Rose Bowl folks want to see OSU win. They could get stuck with two two loss teams very easily.

Hmmmmm, they have to the Big 10 champ if the Big 10 Champ isn't in the BCS Bowl and the Pac 10 Champ if they aren't in the BCS... right?

Slim chance for BCS Championship game?

First (obviously) the Buckeyes need a decisive win against TSUN.

LSU I'm predicting will lose the SEC title game (to give them 2 losses).

West Virginia would have to lose one of their last 3 games (Sat. night at
Cinci?).

Oregon is out of the picture with 2 losses.

The Big 12 Champion will be one of the two teams in the Championship game.

Am I still drinkin' the Scarlet & Gray Kool-Aid? Hell YES!

I'm thinking the WVU/Cincinnati game tomorrow night is the biggest one in this scenario. What do ya think?

This has been covered in two threads already:

Lots of good discussion in both of them.

Right.

But if we lose, they can't be stuck with two two-loss teams, regardless of Avant-ian math. :)

I agree that if we are to get to the NC game, it will probably be against OK.

I think there is a VERY good chance that UC beats WV on Saturday.

Since Mizzou will beat Kansas, and OK will probably beat Mizzou in their CCG, it's going to be extremely hard to have all three of those teams eliminated. Maybe Mizzou could lose first, then KU upset them, then upset OK in the CCG - not very likely at all, though.

If LSU has to play Georgia in the SEC title game, then I definitely think they could lose that one. However, given the hard-on the media has for the SEC, Georgia might leap-frog us into the NC game, if all the other stuf happens that we need. It's hard to believe, that with all the hype about the SEC, that a team as mediocre as Tennessee could be in their championship game. (of course, as team as mediocre as scUm is playing for the Big Ten title, too.)

With all that said, we still have to beat scUM at their place, with all those seniors playing their last game, and with it being LLLLoyd's last game ther, etc., etc. It's going to be VERY tough, I think. We'll have to play our best game of the year, (equal to the PSU game) because I am fairly certain that scUM is going to play their best game of the year.

Here's our best "chance" and no I don't think it can happen. Most likely to least but its all a longshot.

1) LSU loses to Arkansas or UT in the SEC CG
2) WVU loses to Cincy, uconn or Pitt. Cincy obviously the best bet.
3) Oklahoma loses to OK State then beats the Mizzou/Kansas winner in the B12 CG
4) Oregon spits the bit vs one of their last 3 opponents(UCLA is jekyl and Hyde enough perhaps)

Bottom line is 3 of the 4 have to happen(assuming we win The Game of course).

I'd say 10% chance at best.

One down, two to go.

I agree that we do have a chance, but it is slim at best. WVU is beatable, Louisville came very close to doing that. KU hasn't really been challenged, and could even lose this weekend,(although doubtful), and I don't see them playing out the season without losing.(MU and Big 12 Championship game with Oklahoma). This season has shown that we can be sure of one thing and that is no one is unbeatable.
But as I've read others say on BP elsewhere, the Bucks have already surpassed or met my expectations, (I thought they'd be 9-3, or 10-2). ALL I REALLY CARE ABOUT AT THIS POINT IS BEATING SCUM!
GO BUCKS!:oh:
