Dornstar posted this..

OSU - 6.3 yards per play
LSU - 4.2

OSU rushing - 4.8 yards per carry
LSU rushing - 3.1

OSU passing - 8.0 yards per pass
LSU passing - 6.4

those stats succinctly state how HUGE those 75 yards worth of PF penalties, which seemingly all came following 3rd down stops, really were.

I agree DBB. Last year I wanted to burn my OSU hat and didn't wear it for at least a week or two.

Today, I wear it and wear it proudly. That game last night was winnable. The Buckeyes just made the critical errors that kept it from occuring. Last year was a different matter.
AGREED. Mike and Mike just showed some highlights of the game. Now i don't want to discount lsu, b/c they are a phenomonal team and were more mature than we were. But boy could this game have been a lot different. Robiskie's td drop was just ridiculous, if he takes one more step hes out of the endzone and we get 7. The jump ball pick should have been caught, or atleast batted down. The fumble took an awkward bounce, right to a lsu defender. They're all excuses, trust me i know, but i just dont feel lsu was a better team. As good as us? probably. I think it came down to maturity, not so much in execution, bc the more i watched the replays, lsu made mistakes too, but just having the confidence to know they werent out of it. Thats the stuff you learn by sticking around for your senior season. If we get some guys back, and some of these young recruits step up and are the play makers we think they are, wow, next season will be exciting.

I've got Ella Fitzgerald on the stereo with a song from 1936... deep in the REAL Depression... that fits the Buckeye Planet needs...

Nothings impossible I have found
For when my chin is on the ground
I pick myself up, dust myself off, start all over again

Don't lose your confidence if you slip
Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again

Work like a soul inspired till the battle of the day is won
You may be sick and tired but you'll be a man my son
Don't you remember the famous man who had to fall to rise again?
They picked themselves up, dust themselves off and started all over again

The Bucks will be back. They're not going away anytime soon.

Here is my thoughts on the game.

1. I did not think Wells was that good. I was extremely impressed with his power and speed. He is very Bo Jackson like with his running. All I can say is WOW!! I take my statement back about Hester being equal to Wells.

2. OSU traveled very well and the dome probably was a 65/35 mix. There was a home field advantage for LSU but not as much as in 2003 or 2006.

3. LSU did not get penalized and were very disciplined team. I think it was a significant difference in the game.

4. OSU was way too amped up at the beginning. They gave LSU their best shot and they could not handled taking LSU's best shot. That is the mark of a young team and OSU can learn from the experience.

5. LSU neutralized the great OSU defensive players using formation.

All-in-all, OSU is a great team and will win the Big10 next year. Hang in there bucks, that is a great team...

I was going to post earlier this morning before a lot of the critiquing of the game began especially by the guys on this forum who know a lot more about the inside of the Ohio State program and the x's and o's.

I just want to reiterate what many people have said of the past 10 pages or so. I do not believe that this game even compared to the game last year against Florida.

While I understand why the media is making such a big deal out of it, no one in the media has talked about all of the personal foul penalties and the one false start in on the second drive the game that I think really played a major part in the loss. What I do not understand is JT's teams are usually so well disciplined why all of a sudden do we have so many personal fouls called against us.

I just think that if our penalty yardage would have equaled LSU's penalty yardage this game would have been much more closer yet the talking heads don't even mention it which really bothers me.

Also, I would rather play in the National Championship game every year and lose instead of going to a bowl game. I'm not saying that I like The Ohio State University football team to lose games but there are only two teams who make it to the Championship game.

One would think that homerism would be at a low today. I would laugh with you, but it still hurts too much.
I was speaking talent wise, not TEAM wise, maybe i should have restated that. You can laugh all you want but we'll see which guys are playing on sundays. I will mention though, this is BUCKEYE PLANET, im glad we get the lsu perspective, but i attend the school, so i came hear to talk to fellow buckeyes, not tigers.

whoa, ease up big fella.....no bad feelings, I was just amused that your concession was that LSU was PROBABLY as good a team as OSU.
........you've got the wrong guy if you're looking for an argument.

Good eye. I was very impressed with the mismatches created by the LSU formations.
Grad, I think you are obviously talking more about other formations than just the 5 receivers sets that LSU employed. If so, one other formations are you talking about. Thanks.
