I think I've figured out why most the country hates the buckeyes.. because at some point or another, we've kicked their ass.
Exactly. And what I lioked about that game was that when he scored at the end he was all smiling and hi 5ing and shit and then we scored and he wasn't smiling then

You could build a bridge on the subject and have Ted Kennedy drive off it....

Just wanted to let you know that for that comment alone, I'm going to go on record and invite you to stay with us well after the game.

Seriously nice.

So, I will say this 'bout ya'll. You're a good bunch. This wait sucks ass, but at least we've got to meet some other cool ass fans. Couldn't say that I'd expect it from much of the SEC gang... but from LSU and the folks I know from LA, I'd say that you're all par for the course. Haven't met someone from LA that I didn't get along with. You guys just go to show the real spirit of college football. Come over to the other guys board, jump in, contribute... hell, I'd have to say that the only thing wrong with ya'll is your choice of colors! Bet ya'll look nice in S&G!

Just wish that the rest of college football fans were as top shelf as your gang.

I agree with the follow statements from this article sluTiger posted:

sluTiger;1026987; said:
"the [two teams are] basically the same. ... both feature tons of NFL talent ... The Buckeyes' superior pass rush provides an edge against LSU's shaky [pass] protection. LSU is also the second-most penalized team in the nation, while the Buckeyes draw few flags. ... Every fundamental and statistical matchup and detail will be dissected between now and kickoff, claiming dozens of slight advantages for each side. In the end, no one will uncover an edge that can be safely considered significant. ... As with nearly all national title games, these teams are evenly matched. If both teams play at the same level, it will be a stalemate that's too close to call. Usually that means the game will be won by the minds ... Both teams obviously want a win, but who wants it enough ... For Ohio State, the stakes are ... higher. The Buckeyes are playing for the respect of the nation, respect that would already have been granted to most programs with 55 wins, a national title and four BCS appearances in the previous five years. For many fans, though, the Buckeyes' embarrassment at the hands of Florida last year simply confirmed their long-held conviction that Ohio State isn't any good, that the Big Ten isn't any good, and that football players from the North are fat and slow. ... For the Buckeyes players and coaches, this game is more than an opportunity ... to erase the effects of the worst day of their lives [the loss to Florida in the NC game last year]. A chance at national-title redemption doesn't come around very often for a given group of players, and when it does those players usually perform in a way that reminds us that atonement is a powerful motivator. Remember Florida's dismantling of Florida State the year after the Tommie Frazier beatdown? Ohio State will play the very best game it can possibly play. That will be more than enough to win. Ohio State 24-9

This basically the same thing I wrote elsewhere on here and on Tigerforums -- that I think the teams are even, but that the Buckeyes want this win more than LSU does. I think the two most likely scenarios are that either:

1) the Bucks will win big or

2) the game will go down to the wire and either team will have a 50%/50% chance at winning.

Basically, if our LSU boys don't get incredibly fired up and ready to go out there and rip some heads off, they are going to get beat down by a bunch of pissed-off Buckeyes. If our LSU boys do show up with a high level of mental intensity, then I still think we only have a 50/50 chance at winning.

First off I like this guy. Secondly i was thinking about this game as I usually am, and had a couple of things pop into my head that i hadnt seen posted on here.

The LSU coaching staff has so many other things going on outside of the game compared to OSU's. The whole Miles calling scUM again and Pellini being torn between LSU and NEB(seeing that he will either focus on recruiting or the defense cord position more, and I know when I switch jobs I care less about my last one). And Tress has to deal with exercise equip? That's all? besides prep.

Also the fact that LSU has to practice around the game site for 30 days. Just being around that atmosphere even if they go home right after practice. This is one of the biggest things going on down there since Katrina so it has to be distracting, while the Bucks sit miles away with nothing but prepping on their mind until 5 days before the game. Media day is over, they seemed focused. I just remember hearing how the Bucks had to find ways of filling up 10 days in arizona. The tigers have the whole UGA/HAW fans to deal with on top of the buckeye fans and that could be a lot for college kids to handle focus-wise.

... I think the part of the article that bothers me and many buckeye fans is the the whole statement about how now we need to beat an SEC team to prove northern football is not slow and fat. ...

Spend some time going around this site and you will find that the majority of Buckeye fans on here believe that they need to beat an SEC team to prove themselves.

Here is just a small sampling of the comments on here:

I am so SICK of the "Ohio State" is unworthy crap. I am also very tired of the SEC arrogance. I actually saw an article on MSNBC by John Tamanaha this morning saying "The champion of the SEC, the toughest conference in the country, should always receive prime consideration for the title game."

I said from the time we became #1 in the BCS that with the national disgust (jealousy) of The Ohio State University that the only way that The Bucks will get the RESPECT NATIONALLY that they deserve is to play and beat LSU on their home field (pretty much anyway). ... I'm glad we didn't go undefeated, it was great the way things turned and now NO ONE in the country will give The Bucks a chance in hell against LSU, Georgia, USC. I like it that we will be No.1 in the BCS and not be favored. That's fine with me. This is much different from last year. We are not expected to win. BUT WE WILL WIN THIS FUCKING GAME

The SEC-Big 10 thing is looking like the classic South hating the North thing. No amount of reason will ever work with those people. Even if we were to beat LSU, they would rationalize it with something like "Les Miles is really a big 10 guy....if we played a team with a REAL SEC coach we would have been beaten". That being said, I want to see us play LSU and win. It's the closest we will ever get to putting the SEC-Big 10 and OSU is weak crap to rest.

if I have to listen for a month to ESPN and the rest of the national media slobbering all over the SEC I think my head might explode.

The B10 is better than SEC buttfucks want to realize. We are almost dead even over tha last 15 years in bowl games. Add the fact all of these bowl games are in SEC country. USC, Okla, Florida, and Georgia are better than LSU.

Did a quick spin around the other state university boards. I'm amazed that it's an absolute, unquestioned article of faith that Ohio State is going to get embarrassed, blown out and humiliated in New Orleans. It's as if these clowns tuned into one game of the entire Tressel era, but are completely in the dark about everything else that has happened these past seven years.

I want the Buckeyes to play these guys. I don't care if it's in New Orleans. Move it to Baton Rouge if you want. Let them have SEC refs. Put it on CBS. Make the Buckeyes eat Chick-Fil-A and Moon Pies for a fucking month. I don't care. Let's beat these clowns and put this shit to rest for a little while - and I don't want any excuses from them when it's over!

We need to show every SEC turd what Big 10 Football is all about.

We've got a whole lot of players right now itching for January to get here. The only better opponent for us would have been Florida, these kids are going to be fired up at a chance to avenge last year's loss to an SEC team.

I prefer LSU in New Orleans. Not only shut em up, but send a message. Our best chance of proving whatever it is they still don't believe.

Ohio State players and coaches know very well how talk about the NFL and the sun shining out their orifices killed their chances last year. They will want to avoid the same mistake this year.

So, how do you avoid the distraction? After all, it's natural for these kids to think about their chances.

One way to make sure that the NFL becomes a distraction is to try to quash any talk about it. That's foolish, of course, because the NFL is the dream of just about every player on the team.

So, Tressel has chosen wisely to get team members that he thinks should be considering the move (and perhaps those he thinks might be distracted) to submit paperwork. In doing so, he can manage the situation and put it in the background as the team starts its preparations for the NC game.

Ohio State will be ready.

I have that game on DVD and I love to watch the expressions on Jakes face
at the end

Just simply one of the best ass-kickings of all time. Jake taking his poses on the sideline, giving the crowd that, "hey, I'm great and it was inevitable" look. Germaine resolutely leading his team down the field. Jake at first calling attention to himself by exhorting the defense to hold and then slinking to the bench. Finally, trying to cover his embarrassment.

Yep, they hate us mainly because we have kicked their asses across the country or they are jealous about our accomplishments. There is only one way to shut this talk up this year.

I appreciate that OSU is very focused and wants to win. I know most OSU fans think they have an advantage with the motivation factor and that LSU is distracted. This LSU team is a big game team and this NC is not the biggest thing to happen in LA since Katrina. LSU's team will NOT be distracted. If OSU comes to this game thinking LSU will not be fired up and emotional ready to play, that is a huge mistake. LSU plays in the Superdome every other year with our Tulane series. They have a routine for when games are going to be played in NO.
