Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

I honestly think Blackledge is the worst.

Did anyone hear why he thinks the Gator D plays really well against Troy Smith?

It was something about how he played on a team facing a Heisman winner, and they played really hard (but lost.)

Are you fucking serious.

If you watched the LSU-Alabama game you heard him pimping LSU and saying they were just as good as tOSU. This is while LSU is getting pushed at home by a crappy 6-7 Alabama team.

That was a few days ago. I remember that. He said that his PSU team played harder than usual because they wanted to make a statement against the Heisman winner. Whatever.................. If you need that for motivation you're in trouble. IMO our saving grace is our supporting cast. If they key in on TS our running game can take over, then if they adjust to our running game that's when TS will burn 'em.

I swear to all things holy if I have to listen to these assholes mention Florida's speed much more, I'm personally going to fly to their fucking studios and brainstem everyone last of them...that includes Herbie.:mad1: Every fucking segment they do on the game, one of the assclowns mention Florida's speed. Man, it sure sucks being a slow Big-10 team.:roll1:

I can not stop laughing at this CSTV preview!
it surprises me that brian jones picked ohio state to win. there were four ohio state games this year where he and the three cstv co-analysts had to pick the winner. for the texas game, he picked texas. for the penn state game, he picked penn state. for the iowa game, he picked iowa. for the m*ch*gan game, he picked... you guessed it... m*ch*gan.

the best was when he, a texas alum, picked oklahoma in the red river shootout.

I've been watching that junk show for awhile too. I remember that little number-crunching fool said we were junk after playing Iowa I think -- and he had some convuluted bs with adjusting the stats to get it.
I too was completely surprised when they all changed their tune for the final show. Not only do they completely over-hype the SEC (yes, even more than the average pundits -- CSTV is owned by CBS), but Trev Alberts has been the only guy with anything good to say all year. So I was expecting to hear them give Florida a 20 point victory based on the fact that the SEC is great and plays one of those ridiculous CCGs.
It was like they finally had the time to actually watch a game and realized this team is loaded.

i never had a problem with trev. he does have a man-crush on iowa, but i expect that because he was raised in iowa. on the cstv show, he generally speaks with apparent forethought. brian curtis is decent, too. no analyst is perfect, and these guys will often say some stupid things; however, i generally understand the routes that they take to arrive at their predictions. jones is the exception. he's a bumbling dolt.

todd mcshay and tom luginbill on espnu are fair, too. i'll believe luginbill's thoughts on recruiting far before i'll believe lemming's. luginbill does an excellent job of breaking down the nuts and bolts of recruiting and of college play as well. mike gottfried, however, is a poor man's woody paige, which is as negative a statement as i can make. he has a speech impediment.

I would have to agree that Trev seems a lot more thoughtful these days, and everything he says on that show is pretty solid. I don't like Brian Curtis -- mostly due to his style. I see enough numbers at work and school that I could care less about them in CFB. I think his quantitative analysis is generally pretty good and leads him to make good picks. But his qualitative analysis just makes me shake my head.
Brian Jones sucks -- but his job is to be the color guy, and he seems to know that. I guess my only real issue with the show is how much they push the SEC... it gets pretty old. Especially comments like "The P10 and BE don't even have a Championship Game" (duh... they actually play everyone now. There's no need for one.)
Whenever Lemming is on, I just tune out. And I rarely catch ESPN's recruiting analysts... I can never tell when anything is going to be on ESPN.
It's like trying to catch a single story during the news -- I turn the tv on, see the weather, get bored and find something else to do.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. ? The resort hotel where top-ranked Ohio State set up camp yesterday will never be confused for a monastery, ? la the southern California hideaway where coach Woody Hayes sequestered the Buckeyes to prepare for the 1971 Rose Bowl.
Heck, there?s a casino 100 yards away. "But the casino is off-limits to us," kicker Ryan Pretorius said.

Buckeyes blundered right away in 2002 title game

BOB ROSSITER Ohio State players begin to take the field prior to the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3, 2003. The Buckeyes committed two big blunders on their first two offensive plays ? a sign of big-game jitters that may be inevitable this season, as well.

COLUMBUS Those who know Jim Tressel best say never play the man in poker. He has no tells, and looking at the 2002 national championship game may be the best example.
Tressel was nervous ? his players more so.
