Lamar Woodley

Is the ignorance of the scUM players never ending. Here is a quote from Woodley about playing USC in the Rose Bowl:

"It's definitely like a national championship game at the Rose Bowl," Michigan senior defensive end LaMarr Woodley said. "You have two teams that had a chance to play for a national championship and we both got bad breaks."

I am curious as to what "bad breaks" he is referring to. If he is talking about the Nov 18th game, scUM got all the breaks and still managed to LOSE! If he is talking about the final polls, I am not sure that could be called a bad break either, and I am totally lost when he says "we both got bad breaks" when referring to scUM and USC. USC had everything lined up for them to waltz into the NC game, and they choked big time. They should rename that game the "Excuse Bowl." Here is the link to the entire article.

the only "bad break" i can recall from the last few ohio state/m*ch*gan games is during last year's when carpenter had his leg broken, forcing a true freshman to assume his spot and assist the team in defeating the skunkbears at their house.

Woodley repies from Skunkbear Heaven, that special place where up is actually down, sun is moon, and the weasels are champs...of something. He merely reflects his leader, Voyd, who, contrary to facts, thinks his weasel den is the tribal leader. Both are delusional.

Leak?s legacy nears end

QB has been one constant in recent Florida history
By Dave Curtis - The Orlando Sentinel

GAINESVILLE, FLA. ? In the beginning, there was a baby-faced quarterback from Charlotte, N.C., staring into a camera for an image ESPN2 beamed around the college-football world.

Lowly Illini have goods on No. 1 Buckeyes

By John Henderson

Article Last Updated:12/15/2006 01:31:56 AM MST

Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong planned to call a key source in about how to beat Ohio State, so I thought I'd beat him to it.

I found Ron Zook on the recruiting trail Wednesday and asked him the same general questions Strong will, minus a few dozen X's and O's: How in the world did you come within seven points of the Buckeyes? How did you hold them to only 17 points?

Not only do I hope Charlie Strong and Urban Meyer believe what's in that article; I hope to hell that Ron Zook believes it too. Let Urban think that Illinois' game plan will work on January 8th. Let Zook think his '06 game plan will ever work again. Let 'em believe it, ... and try it.

EX-ADELPHIA USERS
OSU game may be lost to cable tiff
Friday, December 15, 2006
Tim Feran
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

About 160,000 Time Warner Cable customers in Ohio could lose ABC and Fox from their cable service on Jan. 1.
That could mean no Grey?s Anatomy, no 24, no American Idol.
And no national championship football game featuring the Buckeyes.

I was, for a long time, convinced that not all Gator fans were delusional.

After spending a half hour on the phone with my extremely intelligent, level headed brother, I confess that I was wrong. They are all delusional. ALL!!

My brother is convinced that Ohio State will lose by at least 7 and anything less would be a disappointment to him. According to him, we have not faced a defense with half the talent of Florida and that their offense can and will score "at least 30" on us.

It is apparent to me that being a Gator in fact kills brain cells. My brother used to be a rational thinking, intelligent, and dare I say, brilliant mind. He was accepted to the Air Force Academy out of high school. He was featured in the publication "Who's Who among American High School Students". Fluent in four languages and mastered Math Analysis as a Junior in high school.

His brain no longer functions on a normal level. To him, Florida's defense will be too fast and overpowering. Our defense can't keep up with their offense. Urban is undoubtedly the better coach.

Mind you, he thinks all of this while acknowledging that DeShawn Wynn likely won't play due to injury, leaving no worthy running back. That besides Reggie Nelson, their secondary is suspect and that Brandon Siler "is no Laurinitis" but a good linebacker. He also mentioned that if Florida has to play in the nickel and dime sets all game, their hosed. He also accepts the fact that we likely won't see much Tebow, and that Leak will get almost every snap.

My dear brother. Without Wynn, you have no running game. You will spend every minute of this game in at least a nickel. You're right, Siler is no Laurinitis. Reggie Nelson cannot cover 5 receivers at once. Gholston is going to tee off on Leak.

Ohio State 35
Florida 17

You had me pooping in my pants. The article seems to say that it's WSYX and WTTE, only, affected by this. For those of you in Columbus, that really sucks. I'd assume that an agreement will be made. Can you imagine the riots in Columbus if all of the ex-Adelphia customers get boned by this?

Anyway, the only time a 1-loss team won the national championship game, in the 8 previous years of the BCS, was in 2003, when 1-loss LSU beat 1-loss Oklahoma. Undefeated teams have lost in the national championship game three times - always to undefeated teams. A 1-loss team has never beaten an undefeated team in the national championship game.

That being said, that has nothing to do with this game. Records mean squat. Previous results mean squat. National media hype means squat. Lloyd's whinings and Urban's polliticking mean squat. It's all about this game, and the final score. We, as fans, can get as confident as we want. It doesn't hurt anything. (By the way, that picture of the Florida player making fun of the Michigan player while he gets into the boxing ring with the Ohio State player is great!) But the players and coaches can't get over-confident. Luckily, we have Tressel, and we have Troy Smith. They know that they can't celebrate before the game, and the season, are over.

My prediction: Ohio State 38 - Florida 13. Smith with 2 more passing touchdowns, one to Gonzalez and one to Roy Hall. Add rushing touchdowns for Ginn, Smith, and Pittman, and a field goal by Pettrey. Florida gets a late touchdown to make the game look like a beat-down, instead of a decimation.

This will be a tough, good game, but afterwards no-one else will be questioning OSU's title. Our biggest opponent: over-confidence. I'm sure Tressell will work on that.

Here's my Christmas wish: OSU over Florida, scUM over USC, Penn State over Tennessee (big ten over SEC) and Wisky over Arkansas (making the Big Ten three and oh against the SEC).

Final top five: OSU, Meatchicken, Boise State, Wisconsin, Rutgers. Sweet!

Go Bucks!

I live in LSU land and most SEC fans have some knowledge but a lot of pride. My head developer lives in Pensacola Florida and shows up today for the Christmas party telling me Ohio State has not seen Florida's speed.

I mentioned the reverse is also true but he would not believe it.

If Florida fans actually think that the Gators have that big of a mismatch with speed they will be sorely disappointed on January 8th. Let them continue to think that they'll run us out of the building.......we've heard this trite argument before. I think we all know how that one turned out. :wink2:
