The SEC went 6-3 in bowl games this year...a fumble return, a called-back TD, and a last second field goal is all that kept the SEC from going 9-0. The Big 10 went a miserable 2-5...and fortunately for the Big 10 a fumble return and that called back TD is all that separated the Big 10 from going 0-7 in the bowls. And let's not mention OSU's 0-8 all time record against SEC teams in the bowls...

Acknowledge it or not, there's a gap in the type of and quality of football in the SEC and the Big 10. Unfortunately for OSU, that fact was painfully exposed last night. Beating Bowling Green, NIU, Indiana, Illinois, Cincinnati, et al isn't impressive. Be honest and objective...do you think OSU, UM, or Wisconsin could hang in the SEC? Or even the Big 12? Of course not.

No excuses about 50 day layoffs, etc. The better team won. Period. You were outmanned, outplayed, and outcoached.

With that being said, I do congratulate OSU on a fine season. You did well.

Yet, ironically, the Big 10 goes 2-1 against the SEC this year in the bowls.

Florida won...they were the better team last night. However, that was not the tOSU team I saw in November...nor was it the Florida team I saw in November.

If you are honestly dull enough to claim last night proves anything about conference play, I'm sorry for your ignorance...after all, when Nebraska hung 63 on the Gators a decade ago, did that make the Big 12 better than the SEC?

Your argument is pathetic...you aren't worth banning.

Intelligent conversation doesn't include making weak excuses for other SEC teams, and then demanding that we dare not include any of our own. I loved the part where Wisconsin couldn't hang in the SEC... funny, I thought they beat your #2 team. Moreso, they did it in traditional SEC fashion, suffocating defense, and inept, inconsistent offense.

As stated by 21, since the Big Ten went 2-1 against the SEC this year, the Big Ten is obviously the better conference, right?

No no no...you're taking it out of context. Yes...the Big Ten goes 2-1 against the SEC. Again, 2 plays and you're 0-3...but you went 2-1 nonetheless. My point was NOT that last night proved that the SEC was "better" than the Big 10...my point was the quality of football overall based on the whole season.

Please don't tell me that YOU'RE dull enough to honestly think the Big 10 is on par with the SEC...

This is what hurts a lot. From what I've read over there, their fans don't deserve this win. They really pissed me off. Thanks to everyone (well, most of you!) on this site for staying classy.

This loss really stings, but we're so spoiled. We've witnessed such great things since Tressel came on board. This year was an amazing ride -- I'll really miss watching this team play.

Good luck to the seniors. And to all the juniors, please come back and give us more! We're going to be hungry next season. :)

After last night, I have gained a lot of respect for the Florida team and coaching staff, but somehow have even less for their classless fans.

Results speak volumes eh? Isn't that the strength of your argument? 2-1 cannot be denied. The Big 10 is down for sure...right now, the SEC is the best conference in the nation. Right now. However, I would hope you are not so dull to deny the cyclical nature of sports. The SEC was down just a few years ago and will be again...every conference goes through top-heavy years.

So again, 2-1 means what again?

Would you like a prize for the SEC being on top right now?

Well...I'm not a Florida fan and I can say their fans suck. But I can say _______'s (insert team here) fan suck too. It just seems that a teams fans suck more when they beat you...

Hilarious, it's precisely in context. Our 9th place finisher proved it could hang with 9-3 texas... but I forgot, the big ten teams can't hang with the big 12 right?

No. I just think the Big 10 love fest may be over though. Cyclical...agreed. But why is it that everyone says, "...not like the SEC" or "...not as good as the SEC" etc etc. I'm just saying there's a reason for that...

Big 10 lovefest? Wow, Big 10 fans make note of the SEC lovefest...

SEC speed, etc...

The Big 10 never gets the respect year in and year out that the SEC gets...lately, the media darling was the ACC until too many of its horses decided to fall down.
