Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

I respectfully disagree.. We did NO adjusting. You're correct in saying it might not have made a big difference, but anything would've been better than sticking to a soft zone on defense and long developing plays on offense.

The coaches stubbornly stuck with the gameplan, and thats very uncharacteristic of tressel if things aren't working. you play bump and run and blitz the hell outta Leak who knows? maybe he throws a pick? maybe he fumbles? something that we saw smith do because they manned up and applied pressure. So I won't say that adjustments would've won us the game because quite honestly we just didn't play well, but I don't think it couldn't have hurt us any (41-14).

Also on 4 teams from the SEC. I don't think so. I'm thinking LSU is the only one besides Florida who could beat us. LSU is similar to Florida in ability so I'd say LSU is the only other team besides Florida that I think could beat us on a given night.

Where was the quick screens? The slants? The draws, The statue of liberty of plays, and all the other tricks tressel uses in big games?? I thought the gameplan was jus too bland and too predictable. Besides the 4th down play when we went for it, I thought tressel's gameplan on offense was not to lose the game which we've never done this year outside of Illinois. A lot of what ifs here, but Florida was just the better team. All I'm sayin is the gameplan to me was the biggest disappointment. I think the players played hard, but the 51 days hurt the execution level. Add that onto a poor gameplay and you'll get blown out by Texas Tech not to mention all the other good teams around the nation.

But hey...I can't make an argument for OSU...oh well. Or the Big 10. Help me out...

And there you have it, folks. 12-0, Big 10 Champs, defeated 2 #2 teams, 1 on the road and was ranked #1 all season and you can't make an argument. 1 game is the whole enchilada to you?

Time to whip out the banning stick, grad. This guy is obviously here to troll.

All day I've been hearing on sports radio about how overrated OSU was & how they didn't deserve to be there etc etc. ..

What shows are you watching? How can the only undefeated team in the country be over rated?

I have not heard anyone say that osu shouldnt have been there. Most the real reports give Flordia the credit for playing a hell of a game and shutting ose down. Most of the talk has been if the 50 day layoff was a reason. I few other people said that every team at some time has that game where nothing goes right for you no matter what you try, and they said OSU had that day yesterday. But I have heard no where anyone say we were overrated or didn't deserve to be there.

Who were the best two teams in the Big 10?

Who were the best two teams in the SEC?

Of these 4 teams, which two won their bowl games. With ease I might add.

Arkansas, Tennessee

Wisconsin, Penn St

of these four team, which two won their bowl games while being mightly handicapped by having to play gazelle-like teams in their own regions?

(Hint: Wisconsin and Penn State, you're welcome).

Streaker hit by car during football celebrations in Gainesville

Associated Press

January 9, 2007, 1:50 PM EST

GAINESVILLE -- A streaker celebrating Florida's win in the college football national championship was critically injured Tuesday when he was hit by a car near the school's campus, police said.

Matthew Todd Schlagheck, 23, of Longwood, was brought to Shands Hospital with head injuries after being hit around 1 a.m., police spokesman Sgt. Keith Kameg said.

George Michael Harrison, 24, the car's driver, did not seem to be impaired by drugs or alcohol, but blood was drawn and police are awaiting results, Kameg said.

``It's sad because things like this are so avoidable,'' he said.

A woman who answered the phone at Harrison's home said he did not want to comment.

Being from the SEC I would expect him to outrun a car :roll1:

No no no...you're taking it out of context. Yes...the Big Ten goes 2-1 against the SEC. Again, 2 plays and you're 0-3...but you went 2-1 nonetheless. My point was NOT that last night proved that the SEC was "better" than the Big 10...my point was the quality of football overall based on the whole season.

Please don't tell me that YOU'RE dull enough to honestly think the Big 10 is on par with the SEC...

I know he is gone but if you go by his logic......Florida was 2 or 3 plays away from not even being in the top 10......so.......congrats on the Big 10 for going 2-1 against the SEC.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin showed that until the Big 10 comes up with a better scheduling idea, we'll never "truly" know who the best team in the Big 10 is.

I don't think the SEC is better than the Big 10, I think the process by which the Big 10 crowns its conference champion is pointless.
