Bands You've Seen In Concert

I'm a bit of a music junkie and the best act I've seen ever is Neko Case at the Newport. I love the smaller venues and gosh I wish my favorite bands played smaller. I saw the Black Keys in Toledo and met the band backstage. That was pretty sweet. Dan Auerbach is cool to talk to. Patrick a little shy. I have a pretty action-packed week. Snoop D-O double G on Thursday. Then I see New Pornographers and Concrete Blonde this weekend. Pretty stoked!

Went to see Bullet For My Valentine last night at the Electric Factory in Philly. Opening acts weren't all that great, but Bullet saved the night with an awesome show :banger: :banger:. I'd highly recommend to see them live.

Saw Bob Dylan at the Northern Kentucky University basketball arena tonight. Definitely worth the 50 or so bones. Bob played some guitar for a few songs, but mostly played organ or harmonica. His voice is pretty shot (even by his standard), but there were only a few songs where it was a distraction. He still puts on a great show. The band was excellent, a great set list, and the stage production was subtle and effective. If anyone's on the fence about going to see him at the Schott tomorrow, I'd say go for it.

I'm definately jealous! People like Dylan and Willie Nelson and Arlo Guthrie are always worth the cash. Go see them if you have the opportunity!

I just went to see Roger Waters play "The Wall" in Philly on Monday night. It was absolutely incredible. Obviously, the music is great, but he added some amazing special effects that really push it over the top. When the wall is completely built up it's really impressive- it has to be 30 feet tall or so, towering over the band.

If he's coming anywhere near you, go see it. Don't ask questions, just go.

Saw Skynyrd last summer at the outdoor venue downtown Columbus. Took my 18 year old son. Shame a lot of the originals aren't around. Even so they were great. Nice casual venue for those who just want the music and the show. Dang that sounds old.

I saw Joan Osborne when she was singing with the remnants of the Grateful Dead back in the early 00s. I think they were calling themselves the "The Dead" back then. At any rate, she's got some pipes.

Huh. I guess I only know her for the "One of Us" schmaltz from the 90's.
