B1G coaches on the hot seat going into 2012

OH HSKR FAN

All-American
Anyone on the hot seat in the conference?

Lets take a look:

Leaders
Wisconsin No
Ohio State No
Penn State No
Indiana No
Illinois No
Purdue ????? Beating the Bucks could have saved his job.

Legends
Michigan No
Michigan State No
Minnesota No
Nebraska No (folks are getting restless though)
Nortwestern No
Iowa I wonder if the Ferentz act is growing tiresome.

The only coaches who would realistically be on the hot seat would be Indiana because they always suck, Purdue (still) even though they had the win of the decade over future 6-7 Ohio State, and that's about it.

Indiana's coach is only in his second season, I don't see him being on a hot seat just yet.

At a school like Indiana with a football program like they have I just can't imagine why you wouldn't want to allow a new coach a good long time to make some progress and gradually build something. You just can't expect a coach to go in there and turn them around in 1-3 years. It's not possible.

Barring a ship wreck of a season, Bo won't get fired this year. He does need to give corn aggy at least a divisional title in the next two years or he's gone though.

Doubt that. He's winning games, and would win more if his teams were more composed in big games. That's one of the last hurdles he has to cross, and it starts with him.

Not to mention that until he gets a REAL quarterback here, a division title is out of the question.

Pelini isn't anywhere near the hot seat here, and there's no timetable to win the division or the conference. He's doing fine, and he is showing growth as a coach - not that you'd notice, since his now-rare sideline outbursts are all that you see on SECSPN.

Well, to be fair to Bo - that phantom PI call in the bowl game still has me livid....

I would argue that PSU's new coach is on the hot seat. Their fans are bat[Mark May] crazy and will go ballistic if he doesn't win 8 games.

This. I think the pressure will be on big time in Happy Valley. Realistically, it is a toss up between him and Hope--which goes first. I know if Illinois comes out looking a lot better than Penn State it will only make things worse.
