Automatic or manual transmission?

Automatic is for wimps!

I love this attitude.

Since you can push down a pedal and move a stick you're more of a man.

I grew up driving farm tractors. Started driving them at age 5 so I've had my share of driving manual transmission machines.

I have no desire to drive them if I don't have too. I have had enough of driving them.



You know there's a reason they came up with automatic transmission, it's easier. Also, I never have to pay to have my clutch replaced.

The only person who should be driving a manual is someone who does lots of pulling, farmers, truck drivers etc...

And as far as sticks being easier to get out of the snow, whatever. Automatics have 1st and 2nd gear just like sticks. I've done both and automatics are easier in my opinion.

I prefer manual. They're are just fun to drive unless your out drinking and driving then you have to wait until you get up to speed before you can have another drink of your beer not that I know or anything.

Not true Thump. Automatics and manuals are geared differently and many manuals are easier to get out of the snow. The manual also makes it easier to brake on ice by downshifting. I'll stick with the "Stick" till I get sick of it. You have good reason to be however so I don't fault you on that

I just put my car into neutral if I'm on ice and braking to keep the tires from wanting to spin.

Yes, and your tires not turning (ie braking) is why manuals are beter in the snow...

Regardles.. I'll go Manual and rear wheel drive... what fun is inclement weather if the ability to spin your car isn't always there.

Going back to driving pet peeves... Memo to SUV drivers, because you can start faster in your 4 wheel drive, doesn't mean you can stop better...
