Well, I got the 5S Friday for essentially nothing. Verizon gave me $200 trade-in for my 4S even though it had some gouges--not scratches, gouges--on the screen. I still had to pay a $30 "upgrade fee", and because of the connector not being 30-pin $20 for a car charger and $30 for the adaptor (so I can still use my Ion Block Rocker). With taxes the total damges was about $93. I had upgraded to IO7 on my 4S two days earlier so I had a little experience with it before getting the 5S. It's blazingly fast with the Facebook app. Also having LTE now is good because Verizon's 3G network, at least on Oahu, sucks. I also set up the thumbprint authentication and it works great. Very happy with the phone, so far...

Quick question... for those of yall with Ipad 2's. Have you upgraded yet and if you have does it blow out all the info on there so that you have to start over?

@AuTX Buckeye I have an iPad 2 and I have upgraded. I'm not quite sure what you're asking though. Typically when I do a major firmware upgrade I backup the device, do a complete restore to factory settings, then restore the backup. Granted, my piece of shit laptop doesn't give me much of a choice in the matter since half of the time it drops the USB connection, throws device into recovery mode and makes me do the factory restore no matter how I originally intended to go about it. Redundant backups on iCloud and my laptop have saved my bacon a few times over the last week.

Hell, I had to restore my phone AGAIN last night when I discovered that half of my music collection was corrupted by an incomplete sync from last week. Can't wait to put that laptop out to pasture.

Anyone else who has a Ford having problems with iOS 7.02 and the SYNC function? For whatever reason, my controls (voice, steering wheel, radio) will no longer work the music in my iPhone 4s. Sometimes it will show on the screen that a song is playing, but no sound comes through the speakers. Phone seems to work fine, save the fact it always goes straight to privacy instead of SYNC when I answer a call, and due to the new "hands free" law in Florida, that is not a good thing.

Ugh. This is so damn frustrating.

Camera sucks when trying to take action photos outside under low-light conditions...

you need a camera with great low light sensitivity and a lens that let's in a ton of light to have a chance at a low light action shot.

That is the story for digital SLR cameras let alone cell phones.
The thing that was frustrating was that the auto-focus relies on light rather than ultra-sound. I set the phone flash to 'on' and was hoping to force the camera to shoot as soon as I pushed the button...instead it would take 4-6 second to try and focus before shooting.

I think you're missing @jwinslow point.
No, I'm not. I didn't expect a perfectly exposed, crisp, professional shot. I was trying to take a photo of a triathlete at Kona jogging down a hill approaching me from nearly head-on, while I was standing under a streetlight. If the camera did what I wanted (i.e., take the photo with flash and infinite focus as soon as I pressed the button), the photo would've been acceptable. I had taken a test photo earlier with a stationary person almost in the exact spot where the runner would've been had the phone simply took the photo when I pressed the button, and it came out fine...it just took forever to eventually focus. If the photo were to turn out a bit grainy due to low light and/or a tad blurred due to motion, that would've been fine.

Now I know the iPhone autofocus relies on light differential rather than sonar returns.

question for you Ifolks out there... I just purchased an Iphone 5s for the wife... I'm debating on getting Apple Care... any one have any thoughts on Apple care vs other aftermarket warranties? or maybe go with the equipment protection from the cell company?

I have had a 4s for just over a year now, have an Otterbox Commuter case and a Tech Gear screen protector on it and have never needed any type of service what-so-ever. If you are semi-careful with your phone, and not an app junkie, then I think the extra cost of the warranty is a waste of money. Just my IMO, though.

Already got an otterbox commuter case... If it were me yea I'd agree.. This is my wife who takes care of our kids all day... Both under the age of 3. I gave her my Galaxy S2 that was in pristine condition... Two months later it looks like its going on 10years of use. I'm fully aware I might not use the warranty and it might be a waste of money

Oddly enough, you may want to check your credit card terms to see if they offer any warranty.
Fifth Third, for example, offers some insurance on phones if you pay the bill with it: http://www.my53card.com/cellphone/
