Anyone capable of discussing gas without politics? Anyone?

To make matter worse, I read an article about oil reserves in the world. The author contends that there is more oil in a part of Alaska than in Saudi Arabia. I do not know if there is any veracity to this story but if there is, what the heck are we thinking?

Part of me hopes that we are not drilling in anwr based on a master plan of using the rest of the world's resources before we actually begin to use ours. However, after listening to our politicians I am convienced that they are not that smart.

Well, Duh.

The smart ones don't put up with the bullshit of DC. We are led by the ones that either seek the power of the position or the people who have moved up via the Peter principle.

Very funny to go back to the beginning of this thread and see the outrage in 2004 when gas went from around $1.70 to $2.00. In a little under seven years gas has gone from ~$1.75 to $3.85.

Meanwhile, premium brand cigarettes have gone from $1.75 to $5.45. :yow1:

Junk food and meat prices are probably going to rise soon too, since we're approaching a corn shortage.

If gas would fall under $3 I would be taking a long working vacation to Orlando! Unfortunately, that isn't gonna happen anytime soon. It hovers between $3.85-$3.99 around here. I haven't seen it top $4.00 yet, but I fully expect it to by the end of May.
