Alumni Tickets - New 2008 Policy

Hotel reservations for most places can be made and then canceled without penalty.

Flights can be a real problem, but I don't see why people think that hotels are a significant issue.

Hotels would only be a real problem if you wanted to stay in a specific hotel at a reasonable rate (i.e. where you would need to book early). My guess is that "choice hotels" like The Blackwell and Holiday Inn on Lane Ave fill up pretty early.

Maybe they'll just hope they die off and not have to worry about them.

You're on to something. If you've been buying for 10 or 20 years, your giving potential is much less than new grads. Your ability to come up with $1500 for the Buckeye Club now is much greater, too. This is just incentive for you to do that, while giving newbies a chance to get hooked on preferential treatment so they'll be more inclined to donate enough coin to get better odds.

It would appear that after 20 years of buying tickets that I did NOT get a ticket this year. My credit card was not charged. I am thoroughly disgusted. I am glad that I only paid $525 to be a life member of the Alumni Association back in 1987. What does it get me now - nothing!! I guess I'll go ahead and DJ a wedding on Oct 25. instead of trying to buy a tickey for Penn State.:mad2:

We received the Ohio U game

Me too.

I was also able to make a hotel reservation this morning after getting the email. The Bobcats weren't my first choice but under the circumstances I'm happy to have them. :)
