Saban saw the writing on the wall. It wasn't that he was taking some moral high ground in walking away from the current landscape. It's that he was smart enough to know that the rich Great Lakes and West Coast univerisites would quickly wipe away the SEC advantage in it.

Agree about the Midwest schools but the west coast schools still haven’t done jack shit, and usc in particular has disappointed there.

Oregon is the only west coast school throwing money around, but it’s Oregon.

Actually, it is more than that seems...drafted to be a lockdown cornerback...locked up for running a kidnapping and robbery ring. I'm also thinking CTE.

"The Detroit Lions drafted Terrion Arnold out of the University of Alabama in 2024 to be a lockdown cornerback.

Arnold got locked up Wednesday after turning himself in to the Tampa Police Department on several kidnapping and robbery charges.

Arnold is considered the 'primary conspirator' in a plot that led to three men being lured to an apartment where they were held hostage, beaten and robbed at gunpoint in February, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Six other people have already been charged in the alleged plot, which stemmed from thefts of cash, handbags and jewelry worth hundreds of thousands of dollars at an AirBNB Arnold was renting, according to Hillsborough County, Fla. court documents.

Arnold gave orders to his alleged co-conspirators, who live streamed it to Arnold while he made his way to the apartment in a vehicle from another location, police said."

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on CTE or other injuries. But who are these 6 other people? Are/were they also playing football? If yes, then maybe CTE. If no, then yeah, still maybe CTE, but it's less likely. He's part of the wrong group of people.
