Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

It was all Hootie's - Cam was in the car trying to take him to an intervention. #Soldier4Jesus
You joke, but basically I am hearing that hootie will take the fall for this.

Of course, boosters would have to take good care of hootie and he would have to agree.

I don't think somebody that stupid should have a scholarship or be allowed to attend a university.

Just read an article about win total betting at the golden nugget. Says they are slamming OSU with and 8.5 O/U. Seems a point or so low. BUT they have Bama at 9.5. Haha, they haven't lost 3 games since 2010, and that was Saban's only 3 loss year after his 1st year. They just won a title and didn't really lose all that much (this was their worst draft in a while). Might be worth a flight to Vegas. I can't think of more of a sure thing in betting.

MONROE, La (KNOE 8 News) - District Attorney Jerry Jones confirms that the charges against Alabama athletes Cam Robinson and Laurence 'Hootie' Jones have been dropped.

Arrested: Cameron Robinson, Laurence Jones (courtesy: OPSO)
Jerry Jones cited insufficient evidence in proving who was in possession of the gun and the drugs, thus, he is dropping the charges.

Jones says, "I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and teenage years, working and sweating, while we were all in the air conditioning."

I feel like I should be shocked by this but I'm not. This DA needs removed immediately. His ignorant remarks lead me to believe millions of teenagers are above the law just because they worked and sweat outside? I mean jesus christ what has this fucking world come to?

So the DA basically says that, "Hey, these kids were outside sweating and playing football while the rest of us were in a classroom and working hard to educate ourselves in order to get somewhere in life. Football is the more important of the two to us down here, so I can't punish these fine young men."

And then they cite insufficient evidence? They actually found stolen firearms and drugs in the vehicle and that is insufficient? Brilliant! It's about as slam dunk of a case as you could have, and that is considered insufficient? These Southerners sure are smart!

I hear the actual reason behind it is an unlawful search of the vehicle and the DA dismissed it without stating such publicly to avoid possible case against them. Honestly, I think the unlawful search of a vehicles should be revoked if the unlawful search finds something like oh gee I don't know stolen weapons and drugs with intent to sell.

Such a case would not be against the District Attorney, who would enjoy immunity in any event, but would be against the arresting Police agency. I am dubious such a case would be all that successful, and I find it highly unlikely the DA would be afraid of a lawsuit against the arresting agency. If that were the case, he'd probably never prosecute any crime, lol. I don't know whether this search was lawful or not, but there are indeed exceptions to otherwise unlawful searches, see: http://nationalparalegal.edu/conLaw...ionFromSearches&Seizures/ExclusionaryRule.asp

What I read was that they smelled pot, which gives them probably cause. Also I read somewhere this morning that one gun was in plane view and the other was under the seat.
I don't know if I'd say 'intent to sell'. 1 gram is something that could be smoked by a few guys in a weekend.

1 gram is something that will be smoked by one person in one instance.
