Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

Tifwiw. Every fan base has "sources", this has been floated around the past few days

So basically they turned on the ESPiN hype machine for annointing Tua's heisman candidacy and pretending the SECCG Jalen shit never happened.
While it sounds like some gripes towards Saban... most of this is about how the media has elevated certain players for their own interests.
Jeudy is the real badass, similar to Evans:Manziel... though i wouldnt say Tua is that bad on or off field... just not the hype.

Maybe I'm giving Saban a little too much credit but a lot of that seems hard to believe. Saban seems like the kind of coach who would stamp out entitlement REAL quick. I also don't see him being held hostage by Najee Harris considering A) Jacobs is probably better than him and B) they have another stud in Trey Sanders coming in. Saban's always struck me as the kind of dude to tell players to either sit the fuck down or transfer if you don't like it. Who knows though, maybe his shtick is wearing a little old?

Yeah... I call bullshit. No one "quits" during the National Championship game. Especially not to that degree. Alabama got embarassed out there. There is egg on the face of every player on the team. I have a hard time seeing any players, especially players at an elite team, wanting to be 'the guys' who will forever be known for handing Saban his first double digit loss in a title game.

Sounds like some Bama fans are scrambling for excuses as to why they lost. Well, got embarrassed. Guess what - it happens to everyone. Apparently, shockingly, even Saban.

What this tells me is that they're too used to winning it all. They feel like it's their birthright to win the National Championship and they no longer have the same drive to actually do the work. Kids are choosing Alabama because they feel entitled to titles, but they don't realize it takes work no matter how much talent they bring. Now, I could be wrong about this, but it is very hard to keep that intensity when you're winning all the time... and playing the fucking Citadel.

That entitlement personality type sounds familiar. Maybe that explains why a 5 star DB could switch his commitment to Bama in early December, then decommit from Bama and sign with his original school full of entitled Men on early signing day.

But you'd think this mentality would've taken hold after Saban won his 2nd or 3rd natty yet Alabama has kept on winning, adjusting, and grinding people into dust on the way to another 3 titles. I just think they weren't as good as they were led to be believed. Alabama teams are many things but I've never really seen them play entitled.

I didn't say they necessarily played below their ability. Think of it like scUM... it's a lack of hunger. It's a sense that by getting to Alabama they've already won.

And, when Bama lost to Utah in some BCS games because they "didn't want to be there" what is that other than feeling "entitled?"

No I get what you're saying, I just don't agree with it. I don't really believe there was a sense of entitlement Monday night. I just think they got beat by a team much better than them.

Fair enough. I guess we'll see going forward. It's tough to keep the fire burning that long and that hot. It's why Saban gets so pissed off when the media talks about how great they are, in my IMO.
