Don't know if this is the thread for posting 'Bama football related stuff, but that defense man, it is devastating. Keeping Leonard Fournette below 50 yards per game is no mean feat. This could be the best defense of the Saban era.

However I don't recall DaShawn Hand's name being called even once. Odd.

their front 7 is one of the best I've ever seen.
they spent the whole night in our backfield.

Let's be honest, yes they're a good RUN stopping defense when they play one dimensional teams that are exactly like themselves. I'm sure their practices this week weren't much of a stretch, Bama and LSU are mirror images of one another. Both QBs played mediocre and depended HEAVILY on the RBs. A competent QB with a quick release would tear Bama(and LSU) apart. Sorry but Bama showed me nothing I didn't expect in that game, and I don't think either would beat OSU, especially since OSU's run defense has stepped up big time, and if LSU or Bama were forced to win with their QBs and play from behind, they're screwed and they know it.

while our QB didn't do us any favors last night, we got beat at the line. on pretty much every single snap of the game.

THAT will lose the game for you every time no matter who is your QB or how great your RB is.
True indeed. But if the opposing team(along with the entire nation) knows that downs 1 and 2 will most certainly be runs, that doesn't help either. Its not like either team ran complicated offenses, Run, run, maybe pass(but probably a run)

actually, look at the box score.
running plays was almost identical to pass plays.

Harris had 19 attempts. was sacked once, ran at least twice when protection broke down, had at least 1 attempt called back for holding, and one play not charted due to def pass int.

so that's a minimum of 24 pass plays.
we ran the ball a total of 26 times. at least two of which were the Harris runs I mentioned in previous paragraph.

that equals roughly 24/24 run vs pass.

yes some runs were called back due to penalties as well, so in reality we slightly favored the run vs the pass. but not nearly as one dimensional in the play calling as many portray us.

I hear you, and yes in this game Less tried to balance it out since he knew how well the front 7 for Bama is. But Fournette has 25+ rushes in 5 of 8gms, while Harris has one game with more than 25 attempts. And don't get me wrong when you have arguable the best RB in the nation playing against over matched defenses, then you run him all day. But I didn't see LSU winning an NC with that offense, just like Bama.

This 'Bama defense is very very good, much improved from last season. I think that's hard to argue. Individually, for example, look at Eddie Jackson. I felt he was their biggest liability last season, mainly in pass coverage. He struggled to stay balanced and on his feet at times. I feel he is much improved this year, and has become a strength in their secondary.

I didn't see last nights LSU game being as lopsided as it actually was going into it. Felt Bama had the edge playing at home but also felt Fournette would get his and keep the Tigers in it. I was pulling for the Tigers, but if Bama continues their stout defensive play and running Henry up opposing teams asses all night, awfully tough fore anyone to stop, regardless of style of play.

It's up to Bama now to decide how they want to end their season. I hope OSU gets another shot at them in the playoff, but would be a tough tough game to win if they continue at this pace.

Hope LSU finishes the season strong - I like their program.

The reason why Eddie Jackson seems so improved is because he plays safety now instead of corner. He always got beat on the hip turn, which he doesn't have to do anymore.

I think the Mississippi State game needs to be played before I am willing to say Bama has completely cured their vulnerability to spread/passing teams.

I also still question if Kiffin can stay patient and keep running Henry if a game gets close or they get behind.

They are a handful no doubt but hammering a team they are built to stop doesn't indicate they have fixed what needed fixing.
