Alabama -9.5 at LSU (ov/un 41.5) Sat 8 CBS

@billmac91

If he made the FG, LSU could have pinned them back after kickoff. Also would have forced Bama to get a TD rather than tie it up with a FG. Les knew Bama would come out and make some plays so he wanted to get all the points he could. I cant blame him for that.

I knew this was exactly what was going to happen at about the 8:00 mark of the fourth quarter. When RB Ware didnt make the 4th and 1 wildcat run..I was sooo [censored]ed. I was glad Miles didnt kick the FG and tried get the TD by first converting that 4th down.

I freaking knew if LSU didnt get themselves up by two possessions Bama would come back and squeak out the win....I think Les probably figured that as well.

Alabama did what any caged animal would do...that final possession they went ape shit and actually made some plays.

The risk/reward was not worth it at all...

1. FG kickers career long was 43 yards...he was attempting a 44 yarder

2. Even if he makes it, you are likely giving Alabama the ball at least the 25 if not better field position

3. Pinning 'Bama deep changes their mindset, and they likely look for tie rather than win

4. If they pin Alabama inside the 10, I like their chances of winning significantly more than making the field goal and having to keep them out of the endzone

Anyways, it was a horrible decision in a game filled with them by Lester. LSUFreek will certainly have some good ammo.

if you told me we would have the lead needing only defensive stand with less than 2 min to go, I would have bet my life savings we would win.

we had them exactly where we wanted them.
and then failed with the chips on the line.

be ready to hear about the greatness of Bama the rest of year.
no on left on their schedule is gonna beat them.

we were the last hope.

I struggle with understanding how guys who have been around football all of their lives, can be so epically shitty at game management.

To not take a delay of game with 1:30 in the game, and pin Alabama deep with a punt, especially with a field goal kicker with a career long of 43 yards is the correct decision 12 out of 10 times.

Even if you make the kick, you are only up 6 with 1:20 left. You punt, and immediately Alabama is thinking tie rather than win.

It's just really elementary.

Les Miles is a fucking idiot who happens to coach a team that is LOADED with talent every single year.
i never played a snap of organized football in my life and i could coach LSU to 10 wins every season.

Basically. Georgia in the SEC championship and whomever they face in the MNC still have a shot though imo

It's 8:20 am... And I'm still laughing.

I'm not. That was infuriating. I'm still in utter disbelief of the incomprehensible ineptitude of that last 90 seconds. It's really like they had no idea what they were doing.

Don't underestimate Chavis and Studrawa. Talent isn't everything (look at us last year), and LSU"s coordinators definitely contribute to their success (despite Miles).

Pitt and LSU Munson'd themselves yesterday. I feel dirty, but I have to root for Alabama the rest of the way. Having Alabama lock down one of the spots in the NC game, lessens the odds that the domers get in. Plus, I think bama plunger rapes the domers, but the domers have a shot against K-State, Oregon or Florida.

Everything--absolutely everything--at this point in the season revolves around keeping the domers from winning a national championship and if possible from even reaching the game.

I think there is literally zero chance they actually win it, less than 30% chance they even make it.

USC is a bad match up for the Domers I think this bullshit ends in humiliating fashion on the floor of the LA Coliseum.

With apologies to Big Woof, Georgia will get stomped by the Tide.

Notre Dame and Kansas State are similar teams to Bama, but less effective at playing that game and weaker than LSU. They lose soundly.

Oregon is the wild card because they might actually put some points on Bama. Of course, Bama will shove the ball down the Ducks' defense's throats.

Unless Bama beats themselves with turnovers "S-E-C! S-E-C!" chants will end the season, again.

If I understand the current computer rules, how tight the game against Pitt was doesn't matter. The computers look at a 3OT win against a crappy team no different than if it had been a 52-7 plungering. Is that still correct?

God, I hope you're right, but I've seen enough to know that the domers will somehow squeak in ahead of an undefeated K-State or Oregon. The sportswriters and espin are foaming at the [censored]ing mouth for a bama-domer game.

Lack of a championship game will hurt them a little but only vis-a-vis Oregon. K-State also doesn't have a CG

I'm sure that Swarprick will get on the horn to the ACC and issue them an ultimatum that the domers get to play in the ACC championship game if it's necessary for their national championship hopes.

Basically if Bama doesn't completely lose its mind on offense, they beat everyone else.

Oregon won't score nearly as much against Bama as most people think, it's hard to run the read option when your offensive line is being pushed back 5 yards every play.
