I am always amazed that a plane that is scheduled for the first flight out in the morning can have mechanical issues. Why would an airline not have their plane fully serviced and ensure that it is ready to go? The cost and all of the potential BS for both the airline and the customer would seem to logically dictate a ready to fly fleet.

On a side note, the TSA agent that sits at the terminal exit site has to have the easiest job in the world.....

KCI is shaped like three horseshoes, not just one.

But yeah, it sucks.

Hartsfield-Jackson (Atlanta) is my #1 most hated though, followed closely by DFW.

Nothing worse than having a short-layover and realizing you need to hop on the APM to get to a different terminal two miles away.

There's a reason why you have to take the train. The airport is huge, and is the busiest in the United States. If you would rather, you can walk to your gate... that would take half an hour. It takes around 5 minutes to go from one end of the terminal to the other on the train. I have plenty of experience in the Atlanta airport and I would say it is a great design, and usually only takes me around 20 minutes to go from the front door to my gate. For as big of an airport as it is, it is fairly easy to get around in. The Columbus airport is quite small in comparison and doesn't face the challenge of thousands of flights a day, so I could see why someone could get frustrated with the amount of steps it takes to get to your flight in Atlanta, but to say it is poorly designed is a bit extreme.

Benito Juarez International Airport, Mexico City (D.F.)

I arrived at 7:10 PM along with a number of other international travelers. Two hours to get through Migracion. And it wasn't the number of passengers. No, it was the number of agents (or the lack thereof). For a great deal of this time, there was one agent operating when they had over ten stations available.

Sounds like my experience at Walmart yesterday. 20 minute wait to pay for 1 item.

Color me annoyed.....
Flew from San Fran through Charlotte to NYC today. Checked my bag at SFO and yes you guessed it, as I arrived in NYC my bag is still in Charlotte. Hopefully, they can get it on the last flight here and I can have it in the morning otherwise I will be sporting a pair of jeans and an OSU sweater to my business meeting tomorrow....

Flew cross country from Pittsburgh to Dallas and then to Orange county this past weekend and have to say a lot of things have changed since the last time I flew, most notably nobody checking ANY bags anymore. By the time we boarded there was no overhead bin space left, and my colleague and I both packed light.

Wasn't a huge fan of Dallas airport either. Got delayed on the flight back from Orange county and had to race to catch the connection and had to get on one of those tram things.

Its just amazing how little sense of urgency people have about little things like going through security, boarding in a timely manner, etc.

This is my greatest airport annoyance. People with carry ons who can't handle them. Just check your 50 lb bag you can't lift into the bin lady. Sheesh.

This is where Southwest has it right. Encourage people to check instead of discouraging them with outrageous bag fees. Southwest knows that they can get the plane loaded faster and with less hassle for their passengers and crew. While you still have carry ons on Southwest flights, it is no where near the cluster fuck of other airlines.

I pretty much only fly Southwest now. The fares are way better than other airlines out of the two airports I use (CMH and IND), free checked bags, and their nice power plug seats*. It seems like the Columbus to Orlando route is always on time and actually arrives 5-15 minutes early, which is nice. The route from Indy seems to run just a bit behind schedule. My only issue with carry ons when I fly is that even if there are a few seats open in the first few rows, there is no overhead space until you go about 6 rows back. Drives me nuts because I would happily sit there, but I take 2 carry ons (laptop backpack and my camera bag), so I need an overhead spot for my camera bag.

*In the terminal, not on the plane.
