Airline flight delayed for bizarre reason as humanoid robot triggers safety query

Bebop the robot drew crowds by dancing at the gate before a lithium battery issue grounded it temporarily

A Southwest Airlines flight was delayed for about an hour recently for a most unusual reason.

A humanoid robot had been brought on board as a passenger. But it couldn't take to the skies right away.

The 75-pound robot, named Bebop, was traveling from Oakland, California, to San Diego on Thursday, April 30 — and attracted a crowd at the gate as it danced for everyone before boarding.

"A lot of people came, took videos and had their kids come and give it high-fives," Eily Ben-Abraham, an employee with Elite Event Robotics of Dallas, Texas, told Fox News Digital. Elite Event Robotics rents out interactive robots for events.

The delay in the flight stemmed from an issue with the robot’s battery — which exceeded airline limits, the company said.

Not an annoyance per se, but I found it odd that there was a free feminine hygiene products dispenser in a men’s room in the Seattle airport, and yes I am sure that it was a men’s room, not a gender neutral restroom, and that I also hadn’t accidentally walked into the women’s room.
Seattle is a very progressive city. It's likely that women that "identify" as men are allowed to use the men's facilities.

Reread this thread. Used to travel for business on the company's dime. Back when most men wore coat and tie. Travel was fun then, now there's nothing at all to like about travel, from the traffic jam getting to the airport, to the disorganized walkers, to the wait lines to get on board, to the overloaded seat bins, to the bags of pretzels (not even peanuts!), to stained seats, toilets that smell worse than outhouses, to the tardiness of getting bags off carousel, to the cost of parking. However, thoroughly beats driving 2,000 miles. But am too poor to afford a private plane, which doesn't serve food by the way.
