Thanks all. I've added a Sponsors tab in the top navbar. That gets populated by Sportswar directly, and so far Lowes and Sirius satellite radio are in it. Going to be interesting to see who else populates, and I haven't had any word yet on what it is they're hoping we'll do. Obviously we're not going to make this some big huge seedy thing, but if there are ways we can let these (and the upcoming) companies that we appreciate their sponsorship -- then I'm all for it.

I for one, along with many others on this site, can sing the praises of Sirius Satellite Radio.

I am sort of a baby compared to the rest of the guys/girls in this thread but I would like to say that this is the best Ohio State /sports/miscellaneous site that I have visited over the years and I would be most happy to do whatever it would take to keep the Planet on its path of excellence.

Should we be e-mailing Allstate, Lowe's, and Sirius for their support of the Planet?

As I have before, I'm 'stealing' from some of the other SportsWar sites with this write-up. So I can't claim authorship herein, but the information is all relevant and important. I only say this in case I didn't replace a mention of HuskerPedia or someone, lol.

It's actually pretty cool that these companies have agreed to give SportsWar, and therefore us, a trial this month -- it's even more cool that we can actually get something (such as the free Sirius trial for March Madness) out of it. That's not a sales pitch, just an observation. Letting them know we appreciate their sponsorship is a plus, whether that be in the form of actually checking out where the ads go by clicking through, or by sending email via the links provided below (or direct through their sites, I'm sure).

What follows is the product of my word 'theft'.

Recently, we told you about some upcoming "pilot" sponsor campaigns that will help us sign long-term sponsorship deals that will shape the future of our web site, its success, and our ability to improve the site for you. You'll recall that we need your help to make these pilot campaigns succeed. Here's how it begins.

Lowe?s Home Improvement

Lowe's is running a very cool NCAA Final Four "Cut Down The Nets" promotion that provides every Lowe's customer, from March 1 - April 10, 2007, the opportunity to win a trip for you and three guests for five days and four nights to the 2008 NCAA Men's Final Four.

Our job is to promote awareness of this exciting opportunity by driving people to the web page Lowe's has set up that provides all the details on how you can participate. When it comes to showing support for Lowe's introductory sponsorship of BP, this one is easy. All you have to do is click any of the Lowe's banners, skyscrapers, message board promos (the posts at the top of our boards) and/or links on the sponsor?s page for details.

Or, to make it really easy, you can just click here.

There's another way we can get feedback to Lowe's and convince them of the power of our community. You can tell them in your own words how much you value the investment they are making in BuckeyePlanet. If you've got a Lowe's story, feedback or commentary about Lowe's Home Improvement, or just a simple "thanks," email it to us at by clicking here and we'll put the emails together and pass them on to Lowe's.

Allstate Insurance

Allstate Insurance wants you to know that they forgive you. Actually, not yet, but they will as soon as you sign up for their new Your Choice Auto-Accident forgiveness program. Allstate is excited to be sponsoring BP. All they are asking from you is to Click any of the banners, skyscrapers, sponsor text message and/or links on the sponsor?s page, check out their new Your Choice Auto program and get a quick, free quote.

Or, to make it really easy, you can just click here

It is time to let Allstate Insurance know that they are in good hands with BP.

There's another way we can get feedback to Allstate and convince them of the power of our community. You can tell them in your own words how much you value the investment they are making in BuckeyePlanet. If you've got an Allstate story, feedback or commentary about Allstate Insurance, or just a simple "thanks," email it to us at by clicking here and we'll put the emails together and pass them on to Allstate.

Sirius Radio

It is time to get Sirius. No, really?Sirius Radio is proudly sponsoring BuckeyPlanet. Sirius is showing a commitment to your team and your favorite online community, so we would like to show them our support. We are asking you to check out Sirius Radio?s coverage of your team and the entire NCAA tournament by clicking on any of the banners, skyscrapers, sponsor text message and/or links on the sponsor?s page for details. Sirius is offering great deals on sports packages, new equipment and most importantly, a 3 day free internet radio trial. Have you been thinking about getting Sirius? Well, now you have a great reason to.

clarity i said it a long time ago.

give me a header or footer banner to look at all day and i wont complain. if you want to give me another banner to offset just your medical expenses, count on me. youve given me a place to voice my views, share my knowledge and learn from others. the least i can do is "do something great" to help you. or is it more like one buckeye down all buckeyes down?

jo

ps for my knowledge what is
or are you way behind on the basketball b10 record (hoping)

lol, yeah, 5-1 is Tressel over Carr. I should update that, it made more sense back in November.

I'm temporarily turning on ads sitewide because I've been told we're under-delivering skyscrapers. Since March and some portion of April are this 'trial period' trying to sell sponsors on the merits of advertising on sites like BP, Huskerpedia, SpartanTailgate, NittanyFootball.com, etc., I don't feel too much bile bubbling up about it during the off-season.

Sad but true. Actually, I shouldn't say sad. They don't bother me, they're static, they're relevant to what we're here to talk about, and they mean I can keep paying to keep the site online -- lol. So it's a good thing I guess.

Just too damn bad I didn't win the lottery, then we could be 'pure' forever.

I really hope this solves our skyscraper under-delivery issue, because I'm not putting those in the threadview pages.

The only one that jumped out at me was the Sirius advertisement in between posts in a thread...I honestly didn't even notice the one at the top at first, and even now that I do it's really not that big of a deal.
