Did anybody else think that Ubelis stepped on the line with just under 2 minutes left in regulation, when he came flying in for an offensive rebound and putback that got Siena to within 2 points? I wanted to see a replay from the baseline, but when they showed it, you couldn't see the floor.

I went back on my DVR to the original play.

I can't tell. Honestly the ref was right there and not looking at his foot anyway.

Probably just nitpicking at the wrong points because I'm bitter...but Why call a TO at the end of 2OT there? If we don't call a TO, Turner gets the ball near midcourt, with Siena scrambling. He prob could have gotten to the rim. Instead, we get turner the ball on a give and go at the FT line (A la Lebron with less time, and further distance to go) and he ends up taking a long, unsettled 2.

I could be wrong but getting the ball at half court after a TO only happens in the pros.....

He can shoot from the outside. He's not going to be spotting up from 3 all game long and he can develop an outside shot in the NBA anyway.

and if you watch he's used quite a bit more than just the spin move, but you remember it because it gets called for traveling (which doesn't exist in the NBA anymore after this season) more often than not.

He is big enough and quick enough to take a defender off the ball to the hoop.

i know he has more than the spin move but there's no denying it's his go to move and it's not likely to be very effective in the league. actually i don't remember many traveling calls but i do remember times when the ball got slapped away or just lost the handle.

i don't ever envision him being a 3 pt artist like Cook at the next level but I think he needs to be consistent from about 18ft in. presently i think he's solid from about 15.

Don't get me wrong, i like Evan as a player. I'm just trying to point out the difference from a lottery pick and a late 1st rounder.

Imagine if PJ had not stepped up this year. They lost 2 players they were counting on as starters plus an early exit in Kufos. Pretty damned good year when you think about that.

Agreed.

PJ Hill's energy got them into the tournament.

Without him, they likely lose most of the close ones this year (Penn State comes to mind immediately) and probably don't make the dance unless they win the Big Ten.

PJ Hill did not cost Ohio State the game

they just couldnt get it done from the free throw line at the end of regulaion (I believe they missed 3 of their last 4)

PJ hill im pretty sure was perfect from the line though

Look at him - he's 6'7, he's strong and he can control the ball. Essentially with a year or two of seasoning he could a 20-10 guy in the NBA.

He's a lottery pick. And if he is a lottery pick, he's wasting himself in college a this point (athletically, let's not get into academics).....

If he is a lottery pick, he should absolutely go and take the money. Although I love what Turner did for us this year, I don't think he will fit in the NBA quite well. He is a mediocre shooter, his whole offense is those unorthodox post moves. He is a sloppy ball handler and passer. He gets some rebounds, but I wouldn't say he is a great rebounder. That is more of a result of him playing 4. In fact, I don't think he excels at anything. Again, I hope I am wrong and he succeeds but I just don't see it.

Because they switched to the UW-FSU game, I missed it. What was the official call when they went to replay and gave the ball back to Siena? Was it that Hill was out of bounds?

It was that Hill had possession when he threw it back onto the court before falling out of bounds. They counted the 3 seconds off the previous expiring clock from that point and gave the ball to Siena with 32 on a new shot clock.

Exactly and that is his Achilles Heel, as he has to be more of a team player. Not a knock on Evan because this year's team required him to create more than I would have liked. As far as ball handling skills he has a way to goas he tries to press the advantage to much for my taste. That may work at this level but it isn't going to work at the next. He needs to develop a more consistent outside shot which will allow him the room to beat the defender off the dribble and attack the rim....

I think he's quick and strong enough to consistently get to the rim at any level.

The outside shot is there, we just didn't see it a ton this year and didn't need to last year since Butler was still around.

Kobe, MJ and Lebron all didn't have outside shots when they went to the NBA. ET isn't near their level, but the point is they all developed it in the NBA. Nothing like getting paid to practice a game and improve yourself. If ET has the work ethic, and I believe he does, he'll do just fine.

Let's us remember the NBA draft does a lot of picking on the POSSIBILITY of player development. If all he needs is a 20 foot jumper to compliment his driving ability to go along with his rebounding and defense, he'll go top 10, because that's what the NBA is all about these days, the POTENTIAL.

what was up with the switching to that game? i live in Columbus and figured they would stay locked in since it was the home market. yeah i want wisky to win since they're in the Big Ten but in the grand scheme of things i could care less.

With regards to the Siena player stepping out of bounds towards the end of regulation -- I actually thought that 2 different Siena players stepped out of bounds on that play with the ball. Both the first guy who took a shot along the baseline, and the guy who got the offensive rebound, and made the put back.

Yeah, he could've/should've dished it there. But, he also got hacked on the layup attempt (no foul).

Turner pulled a triple team with at least 2 seconds left. There is no excuse for him not to pass the ball. I love Turner, but that was a horrible and selfish play.

They did miss the rim, but PJ scooped the ball off the floor to establish possession, then threw the ball back onto the court as he was falling out of bounds.
