They did, but because Hill gained possession in order to throw it back in, the shot clock reset.

WHAT? they called that possession? when they went away(to the wisky game) i thought they were saying PJ was out of bounds with 2 seconds left on the shot clock. they came back and sienna was shooting free throws. i was wondering what kind of shoddy defense OSU was playing to foul them with only 2 seconds on the shot clock after an inbounds play. guess it was shoddy referreeing instead.

The only call I really got upset about was (I thought) a pretty clear lane violation on one of Lauderdale's FT trips. I think Turner got away with one on his first three pointer. The replay they showed as they went to commercial looked like half his foot was over the line.

Yea, I've noticed a lot of these uncalled lane violations all season while Dallas is shooting FTs. To be fair though, I get the impression that refs look the other way b/c of the ridiculous hitch in Dallas' FT stroke.

Dallas should be able to use that as an advantage like when Paul Byrd used the double-pump windup against the yankees in the playoffs a couple years ago

It was that Hill had possession when he threw it back onto the court before falling out of bounds. They counted the 3 seconds off the previous expiring clock from that point and gave the ball to Siena with 32 on a new shot clock.

I'd be interested in hearing from the officials what they actually were looking at. From this link (pp. 51-53) it does not seem to me that "possession" is reviewable, so by my logic, the only acceptable response would be that they had judged initially that Hill had possession and the shot clock should have reset, but didn't. That would be a timing issue and an acceptable review.

If I hadn't changed the channel at the conclusion of the game, I'd go back to see if any of the officials indicated that there should be a new shot clock right after Hill threw it back into play.

i've seen many plays similar to that and not once has it been considered possession. oh well, OSU had no business letting a team like that stay in the game with them. kind of reminds me of the loss at northwestern, only a lot more important.

If KK snuck into the NBA, so can Mullens. He did start to develop, but has looked lost sometimes this year, even of recent. I'd like to see everybody return because they could all use it... Unfortunately we'd be lucky to see 1/3 (Mullens, Buford, Turner) return. My bias for a title is way too strong at this point.

not to bash

but if BJ and Buford think they are ready for the NBA, they are dreaming

but I guess being ready doesnt really matter since the NBA drafts on potential

Agree on both points.

Although Buford might be in for a rude awakening. 6'4 shooting guards are a dime a dozen in the NBA.

Mullens is a legit 7footer with some skill and potential to grow.

Turner has shown he has the skills to be successful in the NBA and likely will be able to develop and refine from there.

BTW I should point out if all 3 return, I'll be absolutely happier than hell to be wrong.

But cynicism and history show that at least 1 of the 3 will leave and likely 2 of them are gone (my picks are Turner (obviously) and Mullens).....

On the bright side, now I get to watch Siena get murdered by Louisville instead of OSU.

I really wasn't thrilled about that matchup even if OSU had won. If the last seven or eight minutes of regulation demonstrated how well OSU could handle Siena's press, Louisville would have been a disaster of epic proportions.

I made a similar comment to my Dad as we watched the game.

He still thinks OSU would have played up to Louisville's level like they played down to Siena's, but Louisville would run 12 guys at Hill, Turner and Simmons all night long and that would be hard to counter.
