#8 tOSU 72, #9 Siena 74 (Final, 2OT)

Seriously? He proved he was the best player on a flawed and inexperienced team, with his own inconsistencies and weaknesses still intact. Turner can probably do fine in the NBA next year if he wants, but he's got a lot more to prove at the college level than Beanie.

Yes. Seriously.

He's as good as gone. And he should be to, IF we are looking at what is best for the player.

Did anybody else think that Ubelis stepped on the line with just under 2 minutes left in regulation, when he came flying in for an offensive rebound and putback that got Siena to within 2 points? I wanted to see a replay from the baseline, but when they showed it, you couldn't see the floor.

Call it what you want, but if we don't miss 4 out of 5 at the end of regulation we're not having this discussion.
If we don't give up 20 offensive boards Siena isn't within 10 points of Ohio State at the end of the game.

We're both right... it was frustrating to see that kind of game after the great performances in the Big10 tournament.

Because they switched to the UW-FSU game, I missed it. What was the official call when they went to replay and gave the ball back to Siena? Was it that Hill was out of bounds?

I'm still replaying the last play of the first overtime when it was tied (i think). Evan driving and he had BJ right under the rim for a easy dunk to pretty much win the game. I know he had to see him, Maybe he thought there wasn't enough time left

Yep, I just about commented on it but did not because I wasn't positive. Doesn't matter but glad someone else saw it.

We'll see on Sunday just how unbeatable this mid-major's basic defensive scheme really is--we just didn't have the ball-handling or decision-making to get past it, and I expect those will be focus areas this offseason.

see how many turnovers Siena had tonight

Louisvilles full court pressure is much better than anything Ohio State does

that game could get ugly fast

Probably just nitpicking at the wrong points because I'm bitter...but Why call a TO at the end of 2OT there? If we don't call a TO, Turner gets the ball near midcourt, with Siena scrambling. He prob could have gotten to the rim. Instead, we get turner the ball on a give and go at the FT line (A la Lebron with less time, and further distance to go) and he ends up taking a long, unsettled 2.

I think having a true PG and having more than a 7 player rotation would help him out tremendously. He's the type of guy who takes everything on his shoulders if he can.

And again he can develop the outside shot in the NBA. The physical tools are ready to go.

Exactly and that is his Achilles Heel, as he has to be more of a team player. Not a knock on Evan because this year's team required him to create more than I would have liked. As far as ball handling skills he has a way to goas he tries to press the advantage to much for my taste. That may work at this level but it isn't going to work at the next. He needs to develop a more consistent outside shot which will allow him the room to beat the defender off the dribble and attack the rim....

Yeah, he could've/should've dished it there. But, he also got hacked on the layup attempt (no foul).
