#8 tOSU 72, #9 Siena 74 (Final, 2OT)

I'll be sort of shocked if Siena doesn't win this game relatively easy. OSU is not going to blow anyone out - even if they get hot from deep. They're a below-average rebounding team, they give up bunches of offensive rebounds, they have a [censored]ed off 7' freshman center who is going to get outworked by Rossiter. Siena has more firepower and more experience. I think Siena jumps these guys from the gun and puts together a 40 minute effort.
Well then it sure will be humiliating if the game isn't out of reach midway through the 2nd half :roll2:
Oh, I get that. I also get the fact you guys have been blown out in a few games this year and have been up and down - justifying the 8-seed you earned. Big difference in the make-up of an 8-seed and a 4-seed.
And yet you'll be shocked if anything but the 'down' swing happens.

Watching anything other than a blowout will apparently be infuriating and flabbergasting to you. :atom:

Soup, I have a different point of view. Siena has not beaten a quality team the whole year. They have not played well away from their home arena. They rank #71 in the Sagarin Predictor ratings, #65 in the Pomeroy ratings, and they don't have one quality win.

To be very frank,I would be very surprised if your team loses by less than 10 points.

The nice thing about our different viewpoints is only one of us will be surprised by the time this weekend rolls around.

Considering Mullens has mailed in his season and is moping on the bench - he'll get beat down the court and beat for loose balls by Rossiter all day, that's if Mullens gets off the bench.

 You do realize that you're talking about the same guy who, just two games ago, had 12 points and 5 boards in only 15 minutes of play, right? By the way, that game was against Michigan State, who has a lot more size (and worlds more talent) on the inside than does Siena.

To use your term, I think maybe we got "blown out" by Purdue once at their place and by WVU in Columbus early in the season. I would like to know how many quality (top 50) teams Siena has beaten on the road this season because Dayton is almost a road game for poor Siena. I do not think that playing an NCAA game 70 miles from home is great to scare any Ohio State player.

I wonder how many losses Siena might have if they played the same schedule that Ohio State has played this season. I think that is something you really have to think about. Playing a road game in the Big 10 is not something Siena has seen very much of this season.

I also wouldn't go about bad mouthing Mullens. We have kept this on a fairly decent level but if you start to badmouth our players that is something that this board will not tolerate. Have you had anyone from this site say anything negative about a Siena player:huh: Let's talk about the games and not the individual players.

I'm confident the Bucks will expolit our height advantage, bring defensive intensity & play well.....

Still, I'm a little nervous that the competition has this guy on their side:

:tongue2:

EDIT:
Oooops! Just remembered. The game is on a Friday in Lent...i.e., no Cheezburger = no intervention.

This whole notion of mullens mailing it in makes little sense.

Sure he's leaving after this year, but his last job interview is Friday. They might invite him back for a 2nd on sunday. Sounds like a pretty motivating time to me.

Besides, mullens play is far more tied to his youth. He's a gangly, awkward frosh still learning to play at this level. You'll get flashes of that potential, but the time inbetween is the reason Dallas plays and starts so frequently.

Dallas is an absolute load and a defensive specialist. When he can stay out of foul trouble - especially on charges - he can be tough to handle.

A team with two future nba caliber guards, a pair of bigs and a deep roster of 3 ball shooters is certainly capable of playing with siena, regardless of how little respect you are capable of having for your opponent.

So if each school get 550 seats that's 2200 seats per session... where do the other 10,800 go?

UD season ticket holders and those with the foresight to order the tickets about 6 months ago when they went on sale.

If you want to see your team in the tourney...buy early and pray the committe sends them your way.....or you can go the stubhub rout. I've been lucky, i have seen OSU at UD Arena in 2006 and lexington in 2007. (and UD Arena in 2009)

When the tourney was at Nationwide Arena...there wasn't even a presale. All tickets were gobbled up by Blue Jackets seat liscenses and OSU season ticket holders.

You guys are all comical. You're right - road games at Kansas and Pitt pale in comparison to playing at Purdue and Michigan State.

There is a reason you're an 8-seed.

And there's a reason you are a 9-seed. :ohwell:

I would think playing at Indiana, Iowa, the state up North, Wisconsin, and any place else in the Big 10 would be tougher than anything then you guys played in your conference. You might want to take a look at what Big 10 arenas sit and the Big 10 attendance figures for this year during this season compared to the conference that Siena plays in. Also, you did lose those two games. Kansas is not what they used to be at least this year they aren't.

BAHAHAHAHA. This is turning into the Vandy board from last year about this time.

Allen Fieldhouse is probably the toughest place to play in America - and Siena was down 4 with 5 minutes to go, losing by 7. As for Pitt, they don't lose at home either - they beat Siena by 13, with that game in single-digits down the stretch.

I know you guys don't like making comparisons to Big East teams - seeing that a middle-of-the-pack Big East team destroyed you at home by 30. I get that.

Also, please keep talking down to a Kansas team - they're a 3-seed; you're an 8-seed - I'm not sure you're in position to make that comparison. However, you are one line above a MAAC school - so in actuality, you're much more Siena-like then you are Kansas-like. With that said, the Kansas fans were much more knowledgable and classy than you guys are.

I have plenty of respect for the State University of Ohio, will take a good effort to blow you out.

This is probably the Douchiest post of all time. I'm sorry your father didn't hug you enough as a child.

Also, no one on this board is claiming that OSU is all that and a bag of chips. This is a flawed team with a short bench that has been about as inconsistent as you can get. But that doesn't prevent someone from stating that Kansas isn't as good this year as they have been in the past. Kansas did lose to UMass at home, got blown out by a mediocre Arizona team, blown out by Michigan State, and blown out by a horrendous Texas Tech team.
