#8 tOSU 72, #9 Siena 74 (Final, 2OT)

correction

you are correct Siena did play the other niagara game at home all be it 80% a home game as the tickets were divided in the center sections among all maac teams... and some other changes. So for the most part it was a home game.

soup and I dont get along. ill start with correcting his post with Wignot at 6'7". Wignot is 6'5.5" and hes got a 42" vertical not a 44".

but we wont bring our personal differences to this board.

one thing you will find is that Siena fans do have a passion for their team and do travel well... both on and off the internet. That being said its tough for a school of 3000 to match the fan base in the home state of a school with 50k+

as for my numbers of top 50 wins/losses. I posted this to show the importance of getting teams off of their home floor. and of course even moreso on your own home floor.

Dick Vitale may not be liked by some but he has it right in that its EXTREMELY tough for schools like Siena to get Neutral and even moreso Home games against the top 50. Stanford came last year and took a beating and i can gurantee they have no intention of ever returning.

I don't know so much in basketball but in football the mid majors can't get a home game against the big boys due to economics, not fear. I would venture a guess its probably somewhat the same in basketball.

I think it's the same guy, and he's Siena's bkb. If you say 'SienaHoop' real fast, it comes out 'Soup'.

shut up bkb
I think both of you guys are incorrect. It is not BKB but rather DZ8... from the station on the other channel. You do know that he watches game film of upcoming Buckeye opponents:susp: I think he might even watch them with Matta:)

You guys really need to get along or we won't know who to believe. I am sort of leaning towards the guy that did not bring them the name of the guy who lives down in Florida and tries to do basketball analysis

I just think this has the makings of a great game. OSU will have some advantages, Siena will have some advantages and there will be some areas where it is a draw.

You're singing a different tune on your board soup.

I'll be sort of shocked if Siena doesn't win this game relatively easy. OSU is not going to blow anyone out - even if they get hot from deep. They're a below-average rebounding team, they give up bunches of offensive rebounds, they have a [censored]ed off 7' freshman center who is going to get outworked by Rossiter. Siena has more firepower and more experience. I think Siena jumps these guys from the gun and puts together a 40 minute effort.

So which is it? Relative ease or the making of a great game?

From my perspective, Siena is a more complete team than they were last year with better depth and size. They're also a very experienced tournament team. I think Ohio State is a young team, playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time and are not quite as good as Vandy or Stanford were last year. I expect Siena to win and would be surprised if they didn't win.

Siena is a solid team, no doubt and deserving of their seed.

Just realize that Ohio State basketball is not Vanderbilt basketball. Like football there is tradition, history and success.

If Siena meets the Ohio State team that played against Wisconsin and Michigan State last weekend and for long stretches of the Purdue game you'll be surprised.

Oh, I get that. I also get the fact you guys have been blown out in a few games this year and have been up and down - justifying the 8-seed you earned. Big difference in the make-up of an 8-seed and a 4-seed.
