#8 tOSU 72, #9 Siena 74 (Final, 2OT)

That's a money post. You should be proud - your Big 10 hoop team was put into an NCAA Tournament toss-up game against a team from the MAAC. Congrats.

I am proud. Thank you. Yes, there is a reason OSU is an 8-seed. They have been inconsistent. They lost badly to WVU at home and got destroyed by Purdue on the road. They lost to Northwestern and Minnesota. Lost twice to Illinois and Michigan State. The team has issues with defensive rebounding and turnovers. Nobody is denying that OSU is NOT a top 15 team like Pitt or Kansas.

However, OSU has played a tougher schedule and has beaten teams better than any team Siena beat. You played Kansas and Pitt tough at their places. OSU played MSU tough at their place. By all accounts, it looks to be a fairly even matchup.

With that said, the Kansas fans were much more knowledgable and classy than you guys are.

I have plenty of respect for the State University of Ohio, will take a good effort to blow you out.

I don't see anything classless in the posts from OSU fans. Some skepticism that perhaps your view is biased and homerisic, much like you think our view is biased and homeristic.

Off the top of my head, I haven't seen anybody predict a 10+ point win with the exception of Steve19, who supported his assertion with the Pomeroy rankings. And even then, there was nothing outlandish or insulting in his post.

Apparently, you just can't deal with the fact that OSU fans don't think Siena is going to win by 20.

BAHAHAHAHA. This is turning into the Vandy board from last year about this time.

Also, please keep talking down to a Kansas team - they're a 3-seed; you're an 8-seed - I'm not sure you're in position to make that comparison. However, you are one line above a MAAC school - so in actuality, you're much more Siena-like then you are Kansas-like. With that said, the Kansas fans were much more knowledgable and classy than you guys are.

Look, you are free to think whatever you want. As far as classy goes, when you come here show your true colors. You did not.

It took my looking at the Siena boards for you to own up here. Every post you made prior to your first response to me is an insult to the members of this board. While we don't accept trolls we also don't like people who try to come here and blow smoke up our asses. I suspect that we've found one of the reasons that the other Siena poster has for not being fond of you.

Your school has a fine team this year and it should be a competitive game. However, I will be shocked if it is a realively easy win for Siena.

And you're turning into the fans who laughed & degraded Siena over the years, acting as though beating them handily is the only real possibility barring a shocking turn of events.

If anyone should understand what it's like to have opposing fans be arrogant, presumptuous and incapable of respecting an upcoming opponent, you'd think it would be a Siena fan. I guess success really got to your head.
I'll be sort of shocked if Siena doesn't win this game relatively easy
OSU is not going to blow anyone out - even if they get hot from deep.

Actually it's becoming quite clear that you're here to flame. Clean it up or take it to another board where civil conversation is not required. Your next infraction will earn a vacation.

Allen Fieldhouse is probably the toughest place to play in America - and Siena was down 4 with 5 minutes to go, losing by 7. As for Pitt, they don't lose at home either - they beat Siena by 13, with that game in single-digits down the stretch.

I know you guys don't like making comparisons to Big East teams - seeing that a middle-of-the-pack Big East team destroyed you at home by 30. I get that.

Ironic that you mention class. BP is a pretty classy bunch for the most part. The only people who fail to realize this generally lack class themselves. Nobody was trashing your team or your players, like you have done. Nobody is trying to disrespect Siena here. It's becoming pretty clear why you don't get along with the other Siena hoops fan. Someone with your condescending tone is pretty difficult to hold an intelligent discussion with.

You're now trolling, and as such you've opened yourself up for appropriate repsonses. Where the fuck is Siena anyway? Seriously. You must have a chronic case of "Little Dick Syndrome" to come here as thump your chest about your basketball team. How about letting us know how many national titles or even Final Fours you have. Oh, you don't have any? Wow, imagine that.

Let's see if you have the balls to crawl back here should the improbable (in your mind, anyway) happen and Siena loses. Even if you do win, it won't be anywhere near the 101-57 Biblical butt-fuck we gave you in our only previous meeting.

By the way, 5 mil vCash on the good guys...

Return all 5 starters from last year. Won the MAAC title last year, blasted 4th seeded Vanderbilt in last year's tournament, 83-62. Dropped the 2nd round game to Villanova by 12. Siena also beat a ranked Stanford last year. Huge expectations this year returning everyone from a Round of 32 team. Played the #3 ranked out of conference schedule this year.

From my perspective, Siena is a more complete team than they were last year with better depth and size. They're also a very experienced tournament team.... I expect Siena to win and would be surprised if they didn't win.
So, what you're really saying is this: Siena's best team ever has a decent chance to beat a mediocre Ohio State squad. I realize that you, as a Siena fan, probably don't have much to root for, and that beating Ohio State will give you something to brag about for a decade or so ... but really, have a little perspective here.

And you are turning into MAC-fan (that's Mid-America Conference, you know, the conference with all of those "directional schools"). Since you probably don't know MAC-fan, he has a huge inferiority complex, and loves to ramble on ad infinitum about every upset victory and near-miss in school history ... all of which is completely irrelevant to the game at hand. So, enjoy being MAC-fan-lite (or MAAC-fan, if you prefer), and if your team wins on Friday, then you can run along over to some Louisville board and brag about how you slew the giant and will run the Cardinals out of the building, blah blah blah....

I love the the back-handed compliment - really classy.

If you haven't noticed, Ohio State is a football school, and for many of us, the basketball season is just something to keep us occupied during the doldrums between the annual BCS bowl game and the start of spring football. So, there's really no reason to troll here - we realize that our team isn't all that great, and if the Buckeyes lose, we'll bitch about it for a few minutes and then start talking about the topics that are really important to us - football recruiting (Nick Montana, Lamarcus Joyner, Tai-ler Jones, etc.), the Spring Game, the USC re-match in September, the Buckeyes' chances to win the Big Ten title and an eighth national championship ... and of course, scUM, DickRod, hair plugs, Morgan :slappy: Trent, Urban, Rural, Sneaky Pete, the Zooker, ESPiN....

So, chill out a bit, and realize where you are. And by the way, there are many other forums on BuckeyePlanet that you might want to check out, forums that deal with other sports (including professional sports), and forums that have nothing to do with sports (Open Discussion and its various sub-forums). Quite a few fans of other teams have decided to stick around, once they "get" what BuckeyePlanet is all about.

But, if you really want to keep trolling, we do have ways to deal what that....
