First, I love my Buckeyes.

Literally a hundred other programs wish they could be us.

Our D has carried us all year, and they had a below average day. The O..... well you've all seen my posts about the chronic failures of the Bollman era (except '06)

But this is what happens when you cheer for a bunch of 19 year olds.

btw, 3 major bad calls against us today... but we should've over come them.

Go Bucks!!!! Proud to be a Buckeye!!!:oh:

:io: I love my Bucks too!

If you make 5 turnovers, don't block anyone and keep letting the other team convert third downs you aren't going to win too many games. As bad as TP played someone needed to help him out. Not sure anyone on the o-line showed up today.
As I opined to the other watchers here today ...

if you drew up the Buckeyes nightmare game this year - this would be it.

Sputtering Offense was per normal.

Couldn't rely on the D or Special teams to add to the scoreline, meanwhile Pryor has his worst game thus far in a Buckeye uniform (4 of 5 TOs on his shoulders).

Add to that an opposing O which can actually move the ball and plays to a higher level (improved ball control) over games thus far in their season.

Well - I think the outcome had an air of inevitability about it.

At the start of the season, LJB posted a very well written summary of this team and their outlook for the year.

As I recall, LJB called it a three loss year. He was particularly concerned about the lack of experience on offense. He later wrote that he had changed his mind, but I think he was right.

My greatest concern is the quarterback. If your QB is not confident, if he is easily rattled, then everything comes undone on offense. Linemen playing making mistakes early in a game, make even more mistakes.

You don't win games with this many turnovers. The silly interceptions and fumbles. How many penalties for early movement on first downs?

This week, sitting in that locker room right now, this team knows that it cannot blame the flu. It must blame itself for losing to a team that had far less talent than they do.

They can react by mailing it in for the rest of the season. A BCS bowl is now certainly gone.

Wait, or is it? Doesn't this team still control its own destiny? Winning out still puts them in a BCS bowl. The NC pressure is off. And so are any Heisman thoughts Pryor supporters might have begun the season with.

I'm betting that the Buckeyes still have some pretty good football in them. What remains to be seen is whether they will draw together as a team and play it, on both sides of the ball.

Nice work picking up the level of discourse guys. We're all crushed and upset.

The guys in the white coats are here. They've taken all the sharp objects. I'm feeling very, very sleepy.

Some much needed comedy at a time like this.

Not so fast. Win out and the conference is won.

I agree with your sarcasm. We should not sit here and pretend everything is ok when folks are embarrassing themselves by quitting on this team (including 5 min into the 3rd quarter) and calling for firings.

There was a time when this board could self moderate itself, as some are trying to do (Bucky, King, sepia, etc) but they're fighting an uphill battle.

Well, the team made it pretty obvious that no one should give up on them. I'm not for firings at all, but then again I wouldn't mind OSU getting an OC or something, but if it means getting rif of Tressel, no way.

Pryor turned it on on those last two drives. Dissapointing that it took so long though. Oh well, thats the mo of this offense for now though, inconsistency.

One bright spot, as horrible as we played we still had a chance to come back at the end there. Lots of mental mistakes in this game, plenty of blame to go all around for this one from the top to the bottom. Couple bad calls but let's be honest, we should have dominated and easily won.

Congrats to Purdue and Purdue fan, nice game, good game plan, you won you deserve your kudos.

Well, I'm off to go cut off Mark May's penis now which I'm sure will be like finding a needle in a haystack, wish me luck.

Well now the offense knows it has to either get its sh*t together or continue to lose. They should have learned that lesson last week when the defense had to beat wisconsin. It doesnt seem like much was learned however, which was probably because they won that game. It seemed to me the o-line didnt give TP a whole lot of time to look downfield. TP isnt young but his eyes are. If his eyes dont have the time they need, you wont see good passing all game. Also, Saine cant run when theres a wall with no holes up front...

I personally think some coordinators need a change in title, With as much time as TP and this offense has had to learn it doesnt appear that theyve been doing a whole lot of it. All we can hope is that they learn from this loss.
