At the start of the season, LJB posted a very well written summary of this team and their outlook for the year.
As I recall, LJB called it a three loss year. He was particularly concerned about the lack of experience on offense. He later wrote that he had changed his mind, but I think he was right.
My greatest concern is the quarterback. If your QB is not confident, if he is easily rattled, then everything comes undone on offense. Linemen playing making mistakes early in a game, make even more mistakes.
You don't win games with this many turnovers. The silly interceptions and fumbles. How many penalties for early movement on first downs?
This week, sitting in that locker room right now, this team knows that it cannot blame the flu. It must blame itself for losing to a team that had far less talent than they do.
They can react by mailing it in for the rest of the season. A BCS bowl is now certainly gone.
Wait, or is it? Doesn't this team still control its own destiny? Winning out still puts them in a BCS bowl. The NC pressure is off. And so are any Heisman thoughts Pryor supporters might have begun the season with.
I'm betting that the Buckeyes still have some pretty good football in them. What remains to be seen is whether they will draw together as a team and play it, on both sides of the ball.
