Game Thread #7 tOSU 18, Purdue 26 (Oct 17, Noon ET, BTN)

This is what happens when the chickens come home to roost from overinflated recruiting classes, overinflated fan expectations, and some hideous refing.

-It's going to be a rough ride if we wait for TP to develop. We gotta get used to that. Someone who was at practice on Wednesday told me(or they told their father who told me) that TP looked every bit as bad then as he did today.

-The OL is still waaaaay young. They need to buck up. Again, watching it progress is rough.

-The staff gave up on Saine and the run game too early today.

Oh well, Go Bucks, at least the game was early this week!

Rough loss today. We made a 1-5 team look like a top ten team.

I am not going to get into the blame game. You win as a team and you lose as a team.

I will say this, I remember another strong armed mobile quarterback that struggled to learn the offense. A lot of people on this forum including myself wanted him benched. He then proceeded to win a Heismann trophy and take us to two NC games.

First and foremost hats off Purdue. Way to take the fight to the Buckeyes. You played to win and things worked out great for you guys enjoy the win!

Couple points before I go get some beers and a loose women. Sorry Wife.. the type of frustration sex I want to impose is not good for our relationship.. I am sure you will understand...

Dang good point Stxbuck...

- Even the good plays for Pryor today were bad.. the long pass to Saine.. The Posey TD, and the Carter pass.. .All bad. Keep working hard young man.. It will come together for you at some point.

- Kicking a FG on the 2... Hated the call

- The in-suing squib kick... HATED the call even more

- That funny fumble no it really is not a fumble call had huge impacts to this game. 100% momentum Buckeyes if we get the ball there and at least a FG

- This offensive performance was coming. The last 3 weeks was showing it would happen sooner then later.

- Wish we could have got the record for most consecutive road victories.. but we didn't and that is a hard feat. JT is not just being funny when he says any road win in the Big Ten is a good win

- My gut reaction was get Bauserman in there and let Pryor sit the rest of this one out. No QB controversy just say son that football means a whole lot to winning and you have mistreated it 4 times today... that is enough. But looking long term who knows what bad implications that could have

All in all good win for Purdue... Bad loss for the Bucks.. But still love em and hope we improve from this loss and find a way to win the Big Ten. Tough last couple of games for em but they can do it

Who are you talking about? Troy Smith took us to one National Championship game, so it can't be him.

Disagree. 3-possession game...too early to risk getting stuffed. Take the points there.

Agree 100% but I have a feeling someone screwed up there...the KO team split off the wedge. Dunno though...havent watched it again yet..

Agreed. That team could not handle another disappointment there.

I think they made life too easy on Purdue with two option calls. And no bn27, I didn't want I-form there

I'd be encouraged to get to Pasadena because that would mean our team improved dramatically from today's performance. The schedule gets tougher in November, so if we win out we will have improved a lot.

A little tough to think that is going to happen at the moment, though. The offensive struggles didn't just start today. Time will tell.

I agree it looks like a longshot based on what happened today, but I'll be rooting like hell for it.

I hope you're kidding about going to Pasadena, or a BCS bowl for that matter. A competent offensive and defensive opponent will create a score like the 2006 Florida game.
Here I thought we already played USC. Or are we terrified of some other ferocious pac-10 squad?
