#7 Georgetown 70, #2 Ohio State 52 - NCAA Tournament (Final)

Lay off Thump, Milwood.

The guy fucked up, what he meant to say was "The Bestest team won."

Plus, if you had posted exactly what he did, I'm sure his reply to you would have been something like:

"Wow, Eye can sea why your a teacher." Peace.

Slyvester has been so dissapointing these last few games, I dont know why, like in the end of the Iowa game, we kept looking for him to shoot the 3. Yea, he was cluth earlier and last year, but now he has seemes very unfocused and Butler seems to be the one I would want with the ball at the end. But whatever, what's done is done, and the whole game all I could think about was next year and how often this whole country is going to have to dear Dick Vitale say "...Diaper Dandies baby!!!" in reference to our team, not Kansas or UNC.

But over the past few games, I think Sullinger alone has been worth the price of admission. He has played with more heart than ever, and has stuck out nearly every play. This game in particular he reminded me so much of Ben Wallace, who at 6-9 can shut down nearly everybody. Sullinger, while only listed at 6-5, somehow managed to create his own "No Fly Zone" in the face of a 7-footer.

In NO way am I dissapointed with today. Yes, it would have been nice to go further, but does anybody else remember our preseason ranking? Oh wait, we didnt even have one. Some people picked OSU to finish 9th in the Big Ten. Yet we won it outright, got to the conference final, got an incredible seed in a tournament every college team dreams to be in, beat an exceptionally good 15 seed, and were taken down by Georgetown, a team who beat Syracuse, Cinci, Pitt, AND an at the time undefeated(17-0) Duke team.

Great season, and I hope the best for all the players moving on after today.

Georgetown may lose to teams that we could beat. It's all about matchups, and we match up against Georgetown worse than anybody else we played this year. That being said...as I said from last Sunday, Georgetown is not a 7 seed. They are one of the top 20 teams in the country. Anything less than a 5 seed for this team is a joke. They may have the best defense in the country, and they are playing really well now. The game was all Georgetown, they are a great team with a good shot at making the Final 4. I look forward to the Florida/Georgetown matchup. It should be a good battle. I do think had we gotten by Georgetown somehow, we'd have had the same matchup problems against Florida. But take a team like Villinova...we'd have matched up a lot better against them. That's just the luck of the draw in the NCAA tournament. We WERE one of the best 16 teams in the country...I just think so was Georgetown, and today they were much better than us.

It is VERY sad that the Big 10 played so poorly in the tournament. I'd say the biggest dissapointment was Iowa. I'm not dissapointed in the Buckeyes. We'd have beaten ANY of the other 7 seeds. I'm very excited about next year. Lewis is growing into an awesome player, Butler ended in a slump, but we all know what he can do, and the Freshman are going to be amazing.

63 of the teams lose their last game...it's just how it goes. This season was awesome, we were Big 10 champs. We played hard all year and did a lot better than anybody thought we would. Congrats Buckeyes on a great season!

I agree, and teams like Iowa, MSU, Ill, and Wisc have no excuses. Some played awful, or in Wisconsins case, they just werent too good in the first place. But this is what makes college sports so great, once the regular season is over, the unexpected is always expected.

It's a tough loss to swallow. Though when you think back on it, it was almost completely a Cinderella season. We peaked in the middle of the Big-10 swing and got us a Big-10 championship. Too bad we didn't have any real bigs.

Whoever said this game was not about stars I really think was wrong. Roy Hibbert is the most dominant player in the NCAA when not in foul trouble. I do realize that others scored around 20 points as well, but our entire defense was predicated on stopping Hibbert inside. So much so that we couldn't keep up with all the Stanford back-screens.

As for the OSU fans being quiet, I know I sure as hell did my best. A doctor who was sitting behind me warned about developing pollips and vocal scarring from yelling so loud.. I've never been prouder! And I think this is a reason everything is tough to swallow.

It's hard to cheer when you aren't allowed to stand..... (not joking, I had an usher on my ass because I was so loud and evidently standing in UD arena blocks everyons view because there is next-to-no slope in the stands). Anyone around section 312 that was me being ridiculous... it still wasn't enough :(.

We did have the stadium O-H-I-O going several times during timeouts. And on TV, if Georgetown sounded louder I don't think they were. All of the mics that I could find were on our side pointed towards their student section in the other. I noticed the same thing when I was watching my Tivo'd feed of Davidson playing us. They sounded a hell of a lot louder on TV than it actually was in the stadium.

To our seniors: Thanks for the Magic. Even though we lost, it was the best 60$ I have spent in a long time (course I got to watch UNC go down first).

I'm seriously almost teary eyed thinking of "Sylvester for threee.... Got it!"

Expectations were very low, it was great to see the Bucks do so well.

But it was disappointing to see John Thompson VIII outcoach our Bucks.

Quite sickening, I might add.

I don't think expections were "very low"...in fact, many thought we had a decent chance at winning 20 games again this year despite the reduction in the number of games. Few, if any, expected 23 regular season wins and an outright conference title.

While I only got to see limited bits and pieces of the game, Thompson didn't "outcoach" Matta, but rather Goergetown had a team custom built personnel-wise to negate ours. We didn't take advantage of chances. Coaching only goes so far...players still have to execute.
