#7 Georgetown 70, #2 Ohio State 52 - NCAA Tournament (Final)

Guess I stand corrected. As I said the few games that I was able to see this year, to me at least they played an emotionless non-chalant kinda game that needed a Jent-like spark to get em beyond throwing up nothing but ill timed 3's. No doubt Matta has gotten more out of this group than anybody else could of and winning the big-ten was one heck of an accomplishment. My comparison to Coop's team wasnt meant to say that this team was loaded with talent like the football squad was, but that it seemed to play with that ho-hum attitude that allowed too many of Coop's teams to blow big leads in the second half. Anyways thanks for a great season, good luck to Dials, and hope the new recruits have a great year

Good season for our Buckeyes. I'm proud of all of them and already can't wait for next year.

Dammit though, I'm hooked on another sport now. I blame all of you. :)

This means that you're watching the Lady Buckeyes tonight, right?

I know I am - I still have beer and a TV.

Great season buckeyes... you gave us a lot to be proud of, and put Matta's program 4-5 years ahead of schedule according to him.
Yes, my main point was that Ohio State has been the exact opposite of what the other poster said comparing them to a Cooper team. Really, he even says he has not seen the team much this year so using one game to generalize an entire season is a bit ridiculous. Anyway, great season and next year should be even better than this one.
fair enough, I was a little worked up :)

Congrats on the great season Bucks! I was very impressed with the heart of this team all year, not to mention the many times they put on a shooting clinic. Unfortunately today was one of their worst games as a whole, partially to the credit of Georgetown. We just didn't have the size to match up to them and every time we started to make a run they answered.

Thank you seniors for a great year this year! In a few years we will look back at this year as setting the standard for Buckeye Basketball excellence.

Well, Buckeye basketball fans go out w/ a bang getting out cheered by the 3,000 Georgetown fans in attendance...I'll just stop talking about that now...but I will say, if you are going to pay top dollar for tickets to a game, paying scalpers so much money that it prices people like me outta the ability to go to the game...get off your ass and cheer for your team. That means staying supportive even when you are down 13 at the half.

I'm aggravated simply because the Buckeyes saved their worst for last. For a team that was in every game they played this year, for a team that worked hard for 40 minutes every time they stepped on the court...this was a ver disappointing finish to the season.

Seriously though...the fans were pathetic and the backing of Ohio State basketball is a complete joke.

Well it was a good run for the Buckeyes since all of this was a suprise. No one thought we would be that good and get a #2 seed in the tournament.

Thanks for a great season seniors, hate to see them go out like that. But next year we will be alot better....can't wait for Greg Oden!

We lost 4 games during the regular season by a total of 15 points - and lost today by 18.

This was a team of over achievers who lacked the height to match up with the team we played today - at least when you couple the size with quickness the way GTown did. I can't explain the apparent lack of effort for long stretches, but I don't think it would have mattered.

With 8 players to throw on the court, and nobody on the bench who excels in playing D, it really hampered the adjustments Matta was able to make.

I also hate to say it, but the Big Ten got exposed this week. As much as I wanted to think we were as good Illinois and MSU were supposed to be before the season started, you can make the case that Illinois and MSU simply were not very good at all - at least not by traditional Big Ten standards. GTown - as they played today (and that was not much different than their first round game) - is better, and more talented, than any team in the Big Ten.

BTW - for anyone who has not seen Oden play Hibbert comes as close as anyone I have seen this season. But Oden is much more mobile.
