I don't care if they agree with me. And yes, I think 25 - 30 a year is reasonable compensation for their age, skills, etc. They're not just getting that, by the way. They're getting high quality instruction for free (speaking just about the game of football) etc..pharaz1;1839496; said:i believe most players would disagree with that idea of not being entitled to millions when their efforts have a major role in the generation of profits for the institution. and i believe most people would also feel that way if they saw others making money off of them without receiving proper compensation. in less you believe that guys like a.j. green and pryor who help to bring in millions of dollars are adequately compensated for by receiving an education that cost $25,000-30,000/year?
Agree. I don't think the system when applied reasonably is flawed, however. But, I wholeheartedly would agree with you that the NCAA (as a body) does not implement the system well.and i realize life is not fair. but that is no reason not reevaluate how the system functions in an attempt to address its flaws.
You're free to think that, of course, and I don't anticipate changing your mind. I just disagree. While I see serious problems with the NCAA, I do not believe its purpose is incorrect. More directly, I believe in amateur sports. I believe it is about a LOT more than sports.i also just want to make clear i agree with you that a free education is a big deal and cannot be overlooked in terms of its value and importance. i don't want to minimize that at all, i just think looking at everything as a whole it doesn't go far enough when you consider how much money is involved in college football and basketball.
