5 players suspended for 5 games in 2011 regular season (Appeal has been denied)

As much as it stings to say it, all of these guys are to some extent replaceable. They picked one hell of a time to throw themselves and their teammates under the bus though.

Absolutely. Every player and coach in the program is replaceable should they choose to jeopardize the integrity of the program and the reputation of the university. Call it the Cris Carter rule.

After having had time to think...

Does it suck - absolutely, as an Alum I'm disappointed
Could it be worse - hell yes it could
Will the ones suspended, current and future team members learn something - I hope so
Will tOSU survive - yes
Will Tressel do what is best for the TEAM - yes

I trust Tressel to do what is right, he stood behind Clarrett and helped him, I expect nothing less from him now...

.... all this talk about Miller starting next year... need I remind you of the Zwick vs Smith talk during their first few years...

side note: if this was shaggy bevo we would have another epic MS paint thread..
this is the thing that probably should be emphasized.....I just don't want to come off like a Beaver blowing sunshine and rainbows up people's asses.

but these were kids being stupid and going out on their own looking for some cash. they weren't hooked up through the University to a booster who gave them hundreds of thousands of dollars. they're individuals who got the dumb idea all on their own.....which also shows they aren't being "taken care of" by boosters with deep pockets.

This is bad, but could certainly be worse.

What gets really interesting is what happens if early enrolling Braxton really starts out hot.

Pryor was way behind Braxton as a QB coming into his freshman year, and he still played quite well that first year and also created a lot of division between the returning starters loyal to Todd and the hotshot freshmen. I don't see Braxton taking Pryor's job, but that could be a murky situation.

Thank you for expanding on my points. :oh:

I wonder how this will affect Pryor's status as far as the NFL Draft goes...

This is just me and maybe I will feel different a month from now, but if the 5 games can't be reduced, and I were Tress, I would tell all the Seniors who were suspended, Redshirt or enter into the NFL draft, but you are not playing at tOSU in 2011.

I just want to make sure I understand: Mike Adams sold his gold pants and ring (allegedly) to help his parents. His parents that live in Dublin, Ohio.

OK, got it.

Life is tough on the hard-scrabble streets of Dublin, I'll tell you.

I was wondering the same thing about Adams (i.e. attended Dublin Coffman). I have no idea how affluent the Adams family happens to be; however, I guess there could be some "dirt poor" people living in the Dublin school district.
